Been saying all season that Harley Deen is the business. No chance of us signing him, dream on. Number of premier league clubs interested, Including Brighton and Burnley, Brentford would want £5m plus in my view. Supporters player of the year last year, and club captain. Recently moved out of Brentford and back to a new home in Essex, with girlfriend and young child.

Harlee Dean , hell yes, I'd love him here, but Flint, nah, unless we pay like 50p and a bag of peanuts or something Agree on Flint cant defend , turns like an oil tanker., stands out for the goals from set pieces. 0wl18
Hutton just has a reputation as a bit if a journeyman whether its fair or not is another matter. Hes done well wherever hes played and is renowned for his work rate.

Played at a decent level all his career and still a good player Yet some of our fans turn their noses up at a player like this? Especially somebody who talks about the very limited Hanley like he's the new Cannavaro... Baffling

Holmowl
This blew my mind. Flint... 16/17 played every single minute of all 46 matches 15/16 missed only the final 225 minutes of the season 14/15 again, every single minute Whatever we might think of him based on watching him now and again, clearly his managers have thought the world of him. And what fitness! Scores 5 or 6 a season. Must also add a bit of havoc in the oppos area. But hasn't been part of a great defence.

I think the likes of Tom Lees stand out because they are really calm in the timing of the tackle and his positioning. After watching players like Batth, Reda and Rob Jones who were wholehearted and got the odd goal what made Lees stand out as a quality cb was in one of his early games against Forest, Assombalonga had managed to turn him down the channel and was springing toward goal, Lees had his back to him and couldn't see, but knew where he would be anyway and simply sidestepped and took all threat out the attack, whereas I had expected to simply see him skin lees and bury it. With the exception of someone like Anthony Gardner (can he come back?!) I wasn't used to such an assured defender. I think we need someone like Flint in terms of a big tall defender who is different to Lees and Loovens, but I think Flint is a bit of a Reda. Catches the eye with some goals and wins a lot of headers but perhaps not as quick a thinker on the deck?

Its all too easy to hear a name that's linked to us and instinctively react based on the little (being honest) we really now about that individual. This is a prime example of that, scratch just below the surface and you reveal some compelling stats. I think your last point is really pertinent and again something we tend to forget and that's who has the individual been playing with. Partnerships are important on the pitch, arguably none more so than at CB where the guy your playing next to can have almost as much influence over your game as you do, certainly they can make you look good, bad or indifferent. For example, I'd say Lees is a player I wasn't massively excited about when we signed him but his partnership with Loovens improved him, in fact collectively, they both improve. A slightly different example is Lee, a really good player that seems to elevate his performances as the squad improves around him, not every player can achieve that and it's why he's one of the few players we have who could step up to the Prem. I rattled on a bit I know....
