In fact it probably says we haven't got a pot to ******** in and are on a cost cutting exercise. Surely if money wasn't tight we would have offered Hutch a new deal, it just doesn't make any sense unless it's down to cost cutting. I have a feeling we might loose a few more players to 'undisclosed fees' before the season starts, only to be replaced by players released from other Division 1 and 2 clubs, worrying times ahead. He's missed 18 games this season, and made mistakes in the games he has played. Another one coming towards the end of his career, his fitness levels will only get worse. He is 31 before the new season starts and only managed 6 games for us in his time here. A two year age gap is not reducing the overall age of the squad. We performed much better 352 and would be foolish to change. Bouncing Owl Posted May 21, 2022 Share Posted May 21, 2022 Giving Wildsmith a new contract is ridiculous and I think we should all be worried about going with Dawson and Wildsmith as our 2 keepers next season. I want top 2 next season but the keeper situation concerns me. I would’ve given hutch a new contract as well. As it stands, we need too many centre halves now. Hutch is a leader and is more than good enough for us. I want to reduce the age of the squad but we also need some experience as well.
