airborne_rat_of_s6
Offer him a £5k a game extension with a view to negotiating an extension. Does look as though he won't be offered a new contract as his agent would have been contacted by now. If true, so much for GM's point that he is making decisions and is not being paid to be popular. Can see him leaving for nothing.
sMacLean
I'd imagine we haven't been in contact as we don't want him here July onwards. Fairly straightforward really.

theowlsman
I wonder if he’s free to present some fishing trophies first week in July seeing as he’s doing nothing else?

Were you asking what he would be worth now if he signed a 2 year extension? If that’s the case then not a lot, nobody will want to pay a transfer fee on top of £1.5m in wages for a player that’s over 30 and produced nothing for 3 years. He hasn’t even been asked about extending his contract to play the rest of the fixtures this season Joe Crann from The Star has an exclusive on this today where he has spoken to the players agents: Cominelli explained, “Fernando has been working hard, he’s ready, he’s available and wants to play if he’s selected. But there’s been no word from the club about anything beyond June 30th when his contract expires, so he will be free on July 1st after the first two games of the restart.” Read the full article from Joe Crann for all the details - https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/fernando-forestieri-could-be-leaving-sheffield-wednesday-season-has-even-finished-2885150 So as it stands Forestieri is a free agent after the next two games, and his contract will come to an end with his last game being the Bristol City game. Unless the club offers him an extension asap he will only be able to play two of the upcoming games Good. I hope it stays that way. Thanks but time to move on. Then release all of those out of contract and play whoever is left in remaining fixtures . We need a clear out. No, don’t agree that “pressure is off us a bit” if we win first 2 games. In reality, we need to aim to get as many points as possible whilst this EFL charge is still hanging over us. At the risk of stating the obvious, the more points we get on the board, the greater our chances are of remaining in the Championship and not dropping down to League One.

So when Monk comes in talksport last week and says the club are due to speak to all out of contract players this week then nobody says anything, now an agent comes out and says this we get called a s hithouse of a club. Get real some of you. Now that's a considered, sensible comment.Surprised you've been allowed to say such things.I would go a little bit further though and say "if you cant get real, get lost"

vulva
Playing devils advocate you could argue that a player or his agent wouldn’t hear anything from the chairman or club if said player had done the square root of frig all for the thick end of 2 years, in return for his £30k a week wage. Just saying like.
