Popular Post StudentOwl
Best run of results we've had in a long time in dire circumstances. A "name" at this stage won't make a difference IMO. He's doing a good job. I'd take an unassuming man in charge ala Stuart Grey vs a "name" like Coleman or Pulis or Monk. 29
fpowl
Every day of week but if we don’t win on Tuesday some will be calling him inept again
MrEdwards
You'll get some pelters for this but I honestly think that bringing in a fourth coach will be detrimental, unless it's someone of a really high calibre. And it won't be.

Mr. Chow
May as well if we’re looking at past it managers like Coleman.

striker
Think he's the default option anyway. Can't attract a decent manager, just left with opportunists and the desperate now. Try again at the end of the season, preferably with a new, competent owner.
Barnwood62
You must be joking did you watch that dross against Coventry
FreshOwl
Thompson in until Tuesday
Salmonbones
I suggested letting Thompson have the job until the end of the season, and then appoint a full time head coach. I got pelters. I still think the same by the way - give him the job until the end of the season, alongside Bullen. But then recruit properly giving a new man a full pre-season.
beswetherick
I’d keep him in place til the international break in March and then reassess the situation. Bringing in a new gaffer when we’ve got a bit of momentum and playing twice a week would be risky IMO
WalthamOwl
If he was going to get it wouldn’t Chansiri have given it to him already?
areNOTwhatTHEYseem
He wouldn't be my first choice, but whoever ends up being given the job, it needs to be sorted a.s.a.p. and they need backing with a full coaching team. Expecting Thompson to keep us up with fewer coaches than Monk and Pulis had is asking for trouble.

We've ridden our luck in some of those games. Nothing against him, but I would prefer a manager / head coach with a bit of experience. (That assumes DC makes a sensible choice, of course......)

Thompson until the summer would be fine. Clarity would be nice though!
WalthamOwl
Personally i wouldn’t give him it but the other names linked are very worrying. 1
Pieman
I will continue to say he lacks the experience for the job. He most certainly needs to be given a prominent role in the club, he is a class act. Everyone, DC, Alonso, Cook, Shaw, and all the flouncers on here need to take a second and admire the dignity with which he conducts himself. He is an absolute class act, never being drawn and continuing to focus on the important things. 1
gurujuan
I wouldn’t complain, but whoever gets it, it has to be just until the end of the season, when we can reassess 1
Rev Owl
Might as well. No one going to come in time to get their own players in and change things around. Club not going to turn around until DC does things differently so doesn't matter too much who is manager. Thompson's record is good despite poor poor game v Coventry. 1
hirstys_achilles
Results are amazing compared to pulis. Same players. Well done Thompson. In very difficult circumstances
