The only way is S6
They'll feel like the season ending was a let down, after their position before lockdown, but can console themselves with 9th in the PL, compared to us. Their whole measure of success is in comparison with us. They can't help it. So they blew their big chance of european football. Or a top 6 finish. And an FA cup final.

Athelwulf
I guess there are two SWFCs in this city. Sheffield Wednesday, and Sheffield Wilder. A 9th-place finish, considering the playing staff they have, is a remarkable achievement. The sooner he leaves S2, the better it'll be for all of us. (As long as it's not up the M1). Skyline
Wow, some of these comments. Finishing 9th is a bloody amazing achievement for them. Missed out on Europe? At least they gave it a bloody good go. Meanwhile, our team is spineless, soulless and on the brink of getting relegated to L1. Fans are out with their pitch forks for the manager, chairman and squad. I'd swap places with them instantly. They have a very ood squad of players who are giving their all. A manager and assistant manager who know what they're doing. Meanwhile, our manager seems out of his depth, none of his own back room staff and we've now only got one, maybe two players who actually care about the club. We've also released two new kits - Early for a change. But once again with no sponsor. Don't bank on them being poo next season, lets worry about our own problems first. Pablo Bonvin
Well that was far from a nightmare on Jihadi John Street unfortunately. And it’s ruined the record of a relegation every 13 years. Hopefully our record of changing divisions in a year ending in a zero goes with it. I vote we name the thread next season “Another brilliant season for the grunts” and hope that backfires too... Unfortunately they have had a good season. Still, their forwards have scored less top flight goals than Andy Booth. They have the markings of a one year wonder. Remember everyone hailing Wagner as a genius for his work in the PL the first year

Sheff74
As much as I enjoy ripping into our neighbours, I have to say that right now it feels like Susan Boyle trying to take the p i s s out of Charleze Theron for tripping over on the way to the awards podium. Yes it fell flat for them at the end, but jesus wept they are years in front of us and in terms of exposure, attractiveness and income we aren't in the same orbit at the moment. It would be easier to stomach if I felt that we were on the verge of threatening to join them at the top table, but in all honesty right now I think we are looking at a relegation battle, and that is without a potential points deduction. SiJ
Credit where credit is due, but I wonder if they'll look back in a few years and think what if? A legitimate chance of Champions League and an FA Cup. In the end, a very solid first season back, but I think they'll have a many better opportunities to have really achieved something. SiJ
Oh, and @Sheff74 and @Skyline - stop missing the point of the thread. We all know how dogw@nk we are right now. How could you not? We also know they're having a great time atm and have had a good season. Still - if people want to take the pi55 then just let. Lighten up ffs.

BIG D
The time when we can’t take the pi55 out of those f**king scrubbers is the time to pack in with football. 5

Ellis Rimmer
I'm sure Man City fans would still take the ******** out of Man utd when they lost in Europe but city playing in division 2. Would be pretty bland football if the worser team could not have a say

Perhaps leave this thread alone then? We all know they are better than us right now thanks to falling on the right manager at the umpteenth attempt when in the 3rd division. Form is temporary & this thread is a light hearted laugh at them when things don't go to plan. When the football restarted they had a game in had against a team in the relegation zone with a chance of going 5th. They ended up 9th and missed out on a great opportunity for their first ever season in Europe. Small wins! These threads have been going on for years and they had posters on here willing to have a pop at us when they had spent half a decade in the 3rd division, try not to take this one too seriously. darra
Listening to the radio the other night they were questioning whether they could matain it next season. Apparently, some of the big clubs are sniffing around some of their better players, names we're mentioned but it was past midnight so don't remember who. If they did decide to move would Poundland be prepared to spend money to replace them with like for like for more money?
