Don’t care where he goes, as long as he goes. Been a massively important player for them for three seasons. They simply won’t be able to replace him. A similar keeper would cost a fortune so they have to look lower or gamble on another youngster and they surely can’t be that lucky again. Can they?

I think it's 2 seasons, but this is another thing that's wrong with modern football. Season long loans, or in this case, two seasons! and maybe a third. It's absolutely absurd.  He's registered to MUFC, presumably paid, in part by them , but allowed to play for 2 seasons against their rivals for another club!  Tammy Abrahams was virtually an England player, yet couldn't get in Chelseas team so went on "season long"  "loans". Where will it end, will we eventually have "career long loans" ?

Strange what happened with him. Went from been at the peak of his powers to on Burnley’s bench in the space of a couple of years

Seems to be the typical England goal keeper syndrome!

We have some that come thorugh, look like world beaters and then suddenly drop like a stone.

Can't remember last time England had a keeper that cemented that No1 spot for a while? Seaman?

We have not had a truly great keeper since Shilton at his peak

Early and late career was dodgy but for a time between he was imperious

Don't think Seaman was anywhere near as good - considerably over rated imo. Especially in big games

It's not strange.  City carried him.  Didn't deserve to be England #1, fell into it by default.

Seems to have settled comfortably in as a deep reserve now.

WTF are those monstrosities?

I wouldn't put them on my Guy Fawkes

Look like something you'd find on a stall on Blackpool front with a Dell boy like character shouting "2 pairs for a fiver "

It's not that simple, when De Gea is on a ridiculous £375k per week.

Who's going to be willing to pay that, plus a hefty transfer fee, for a keeper who's starting to get a reputation for making costly mistakes?

Swfc?

Best season ever.....9th. Level points with Burnley.

Sure we are crap atm...but still it's a little bit funny.

Really?

The poo we are in, the state of our squad, them lot finish 9th in the Premier League when I thought they might break Derby's record and it's funny?

Not sure I'm smiling.

Saving grace is they ran out of steam. Next season McGoldrick will be a year older and they will lose Henderson. Also I think they may struggle to hold onto one or two others like O'Connel who is destined for better things than them.

They have (begrudgingly) got a fantastic manager but next season I expect them to be in a dogfight. Should cheer us up in ours.

Wouldn't count on them losing Henderson. Can see him staying another season.

Unfortunately, they have had a good season.

Still, their forwards have scored less top-flight goals than Andy Booth.

Depends with Henderson lot of talk on the radio in the last weeks that Solkjear wants a look at him in the European matches.

Firstly, we'd all swap places with them (status-wise) , they've finished 9th in the PL and own their own ground. Secondly, finishing 4th from bottom would have been a tremendous achievement, Wilder has done a spectacular job to get them there after 6 years in the pub league.  Credit where it's due they've had a great 4 years.

However, just a few weeks ago their fans were boasting they might be in the Champions league, and, at least in the Europa League next season, and, furthermore they had a great chance of winning the FA Cup. And they were right, this was all distinctly possible.

None of those things have happened. They didn't even make the FA Cup semi final so the honours board signwriter can put his brushes away. They missed out on the much heralded "European tour" by 5 points (I think), so not even near in the end. A great season, no doubt, but, in 10 years time no-one remembers who finished ninth do they?

And, this was perhaps, their best chance to do what they long to do, above everything else, match their bigger neighbours, play in Europe and, even better, actually win something.

I may well be wrong, and they go on to better things, do a Leicester, but several established clubs had poor seasons, yet still, in the end finished above them.

They'll need to score more than a goal a game next year in the difficult "second season".
