I think it's 2 seasons, but this is another thing that's wrong with modern football. Season long loans, or in this case, two seasons! and maybe a third. It's absolutely absurd. He's registered to MUFC, presumably paid, in part by them , but allowed to play for 2 seasons against their rivals for another club! Tammy Abrahams was virtually an England player, yet couldn't get in Chelseas team so went on "season long" "loans". We have some that come thorugh, look like world beaters and then suddenly drop like a stone. Can't remember last time England had a keeper that cemented that No1 spot for a while? Seaman? Really? The poo we are in, the state of our squad, them lot finish 9th in the Premier League when I thought they might break Derby's record and it's funny? Not sure I'm smiling. Saving grace is they ran out of steam. Next season McGoldrick will be a year older and they will lose Henderson. Also I think they may struggle to hold onto one or two others like O'Connel who is destined for better things than them. Secondly, finishing 4th from bottom would have been a tremendous achievement, Wilder has done a spectacular job to get them there after 6 years in the pub league. Credit where it's due they've had a great 4 years. However, just a few weeks ago their fans were boasting they might be in the Champions league, and, at least in the Europa League next season, and, furthermore they had a great chance of winning the FA Cup. And they were right, this was all distinctly possible. None of those things have happened. They didn't even make the FA Cup semi final so the honours board signwriter can put his brushes away. They missed out on the much heralded "European tour" by 5 points (I think), so not even near in the end. A great season, no doubt, but, in 10 years time no-one remembers who finished ninth do they? And, this was perhaps, their best chance to do what they long to do, above everything else, match their bigger neighbours, play in Europe and, even better, actually win something. I may well be wrong, and they go on to better things, do a Leicester, but several established clubs had poor seasons, yet still, in the end finished above them.
