mancowl08
Would be a good signing. Would settle straight back in quickly as Hutchinson did. Free agent and relatively cheap wages? Could do a lot worse for league one!
Guest
Would be a great signing at this level. We never fully replaced him when he was sold.

When he was here last time everyone slated him When he left everyone was mocking how bad he was at his new club So how is he now a no brainier?? he was a good player for us lacked final ball at times. we have had no one better there since. I know he's not getting any younger for a footballer but for where we are I think its a no brainer.
Matt_1
Played consistent football at Championship level for the last 8 years. As long as his wages are sensible, it's a no brainer. Better that what we currently have. He's not the wrong age either. We have signed plenty of youth in the last fe wweeks. A couple of experienced heads isn't a bad thing.
WalthamOwl
He wasn’t that good the first time around, good few years older now so will be even worse. Not what we need at all. 2

I thought that he was a very steady championship right back.
TheEnchanter
If he hadn't played for us before I think people would be happier with this idea. He's played plenty of games since leaving us including nearly all of Bristol's games last year. Obviously League 1 is very different from when he wasn't quite good enough for us trying to get into the Prem. I'm not a huge fan of looking in the past but in our situation I think this would be a good signing. As ever it's a vocal minority who will have been slating him. We sold him for peanuts. He didn't want to leave. For me he was better going forward than he was defensively, he's a provider, but he was by far our best right back defensively as well. We now have a MUCH MUCH weaker team than we had when he left. I'm struggling to see how people wouldn't see this as a 'no brainer'. 1
pazowl55
I think Palmer is the better player now. Wouldn't mind it if we were moving Palmer to left back though.
edwinowl
Definite yes from me. Quality at L1 level. As someone said it’s a no brainer.
MallorcaOwl
I am not saying that it's a no brainer. Free transfer is worth the risk, he would strengthen the squad

FlyingOwl
Im usually against re-signing players. That said. He’d automatically be one of the best full backs in the league. Experienced. Bristol fans liked him -he just stopped being good enough for championship level.
RedDragonOwl
He was a good player for us, and we never really replaced him. Would be a top signing at this level. He is the type of rightback we need. Works hard, very quick and strong in the tackle.

I voted for him for player of the season the year he left. He just got the boo boys target on his back, same as so many others have before

Bit surprised myself as I’m not sure we need a right back. Any thoughts? PS: sorry, wasn’t sure how to add the link We're putting the band back together
