For those saying it’s a no brainier can you explain it please?

When he was here last time everyone slated him

When he left everyone was mocking how bad he was at his new club

So how is he now a no brainier??

he was a good player for us lacked final ball at times. we have had no one better there since. I know he's not getting any younger for a footballer but for where we are I think its a no brainer.

Played consistent football at Championship level for the last 8 years. As long as his wages are sensible, it's a no brainer.

Better that what we currently have.

He's not the wrong age either. We have signed plenty of youth in the last fe wweeks. A couple of experienced heads isn't a bad thing.

I didn't slate him when he was here. I thought that he was a very steady championship right back.

If he hadn't played for us before I think people would be happier with this idea.

He's played plenty of games since leaving us including nearly all of Bristol's games last year. Obviously League 1 is very different from when he wasn't quite good enough for us trying to get into the Prem.

I'm not a huge fan of looking in the past but in our situation I think this would be a good signing.

As ever it's a vocal minority who will have been slating him.

We sold him for peanuts.  He didn't want to leave.  For me he was better going forward than he was defensively, he's a provider, but he was by far our best right back defensively as well.

We now have a MUCH MUCH weaker team than we had when he left.

I'm struggling to see how people wouldn't see this as a 'no brainer'.

Not everyone. I voted for him for player of the season the year he left.

He just got the boo boys target on his back, same as so many others have before

I honestly don’t remember that being the case.

I’ve just seen on the Football League link that we are in talks to sign him on a free transfer. Bit surprised myself as I’m not sure we need a right back. Any thoughts?

PS: sorry, wasn’t sure how to add the link

We're putting the band back together
