Devonstrix
If it’s alright to carry on dreaming then, what about if Pearson comes here and brings Vardy back home next year, who agrees to play for nowt!

You're probably right that we wouldn't get him but I'll carry on dreaming! There will be a hat full of Chairman onto his agent already! Middlesborough the obvious one. I suppose if you don't ask the question you'll never know, no harm in asking. Good shout on Middlesbrough though they might have problems to come without parachute payments anymore. It's embarassing to think we'd be getting managers of that level of prestige, did you not see the short-list last time around? Let us dream! Without it we have to face the reality of what SWFC has become.

This ^ the next week or two are going to be very interesting to see what happens with the EFL charge, Monk and Chansiri’s future. No he can't. The idea is that his lack of nous kept a Leicester squad from realizing it's full potential, and he blew his follow-up act at Watford. PL teams are the last places that need a "hard man" gaffer. Those days are long gone. Edited July 19, 2020 by Socialist_Owl

Devonstrix
Very interesting times. There could be one or two more decent names available in the next couple of weeks as well as Pearson and Cowley. For instance, will Bournemouth part company with Eddie Howe? It would seem unlikely, but he could decide its time for a change of scenery. Not sure he will attract other Prem clubs though as this season will have damaged his reputation a touch.

Nero
Is Pearson a better bet than Monk for us next season? Yes. Ask him if he wants the job. He either says yes or no.

I live just round the corner from where I work though and I honestly don’t it’s affected me negatively at all. In fact, I find it easier to both get to, and get home from work. Sometimes I can pop to the shop as well and pick up something for tea. So to summarise, I reckon Nige should reconsider his stance on this. G-Reg
I'm not a binary 'Monk In' or 'Monk Out', but if we find out we are staying in the Championship and a manager of Pearson's calibre (or better) is available, we should ask. Pearson is just a better manager than Monk and a better bet for the squad rebuild task.

Still living off promotion with Leicester years ago and done very little since. When I hear him speak about us he's also not entirely complementary, played a huge part in the greatest day in my living memory, as a top player, yes, but don't think he has any real affinity for the club. I get the impression we were just a job to him and the comment about not managing us just convenient geography, rather than avoiding tainting his legacy. So you are looking for someone with affinity with the club and not just a job ? Good luck
