Spot on.

There has been to much time wasted on JUST the 1st team over the last 30 years, how long does it take to sink into the skulls of some people to realise there is more to a club.

Precisely this.

Fans fail to recognise how great Chansiri's contribution has been to the infrastructure of the club, faculties, academy set up and the development squad have all improved 10 fold since he's been at the helm - granted MM provided him a great foundation to do so, but it was Chansiri's investment that was behind all of the above.

We seem to be moving in the right direction, I'm inclined to give Monk the time and peace to implement his vision and suffer a few lapses on the way. Fact is, despite the occasional lapse and loss and more infrequently terrible loss, we're still sat towards top of the table a few points off play offs with a lot of games left to play.

Hope it'll be back to within 1 point of play offs by the time this weekend is over.

If it’s true Westwood refuses to sit on the bench then that it is a poor example to set.

But we don’t know this for sure, so wrong to speculate.

You're right - but like any of these shenanigans at Hillsborough over the last few years you have see the facts for what they are and then speculate wildly:

  • SWFC gave Westwood a two year deal in the Summer. We all assumed that this was for him to be no1 keeper, as the salary must be higher than Dawson and Wildsmith. If it wasn't, they'd be no point giving him a contract, and I doubt he would have signed it.
  • He started off as no1 until his injury.
  • Dawson steps in and does well.
  • Westwood is fit again, but doesn't come back into the squad - Wildsmith, the U23 keeper is now in front of him and on the bench.

There's no way SWFC would want Wildsmith on the bench if Westwood is fit; both team wise and financially.

That’s part of the problem with the current structure (or lack of) for me, this should be the club’s vision, with Monk buying into it.  We shouldn’t be appointing managers to give us a ‘vision’, it should already be ingrained, although that’s clearly not the case.  Monk has a very big job on his hands.

Too many have become a part of the furniture and not in a good way.

They talk a good game, say the right things, but dont have it in them to challenge at this level anymore.

Living off a few good seasons under Carlos.

This summer, we need a complete clear out

And because some of these players are fan favourites it’s almost like they become untouchable.

Part of the problem is lack of continuity. DC, whatever his faults, has stated he wants his coaches to coach, and sometimes that means working with the players you have Players have had to adapt to different ways of playing, but that’s the way it should be.
We don’t really have clear identity, a specific way of playing, we seem to lurch from one direction to another

Am I the only one that feels like a part of that is aimed at us the fans?  He isn't talking about the squad, he's talking about the whole club.  Why are we so good away from Hillsborough?  Maybe the garbage atmosphere has a part to play.  Maybe he's suggesting the fans create a more positive atmosphere (yeah yeah you can't cheer if the players don't turn up etc. etc.)?

Just not bothered...

If GM is taking aim at the fans, he needs to educate himself on the treadmill of fcukwittery we’ve been on the last few years. The fans have been taken for mugs for years now.

So it's OK to turn up just for a moan at the left back then?

So there is an issue with the club culture and mentality so simple question. When a new manager comes in why does he not clear out the back room staff and start again.

No instead the only thing that changes is the manager.

The club needs a rethink from top to bottom but one of the biggest issues is not the players, but the guy at the top and his lack of knowledge of running a football club, he continues to not bring in people who can help him and we stumble along from one crisis to the next.

He needs a football CEO who knows how to run the club day to day as a viable business. He needs a director of football who can manage both the first team and the development teams.

He needs a head of youth development with experience of develop youth players into first team players.

No more jobs because they are a top bloke, or they used to play for the club now real change is needed.

Hopefully a big clear out on the way in the summer although it wasn’t long ago we had 16 or so players out of contract and nothing has really changed since then. Some of these players that where successful under CC need moving on, they aren’t up to the job anymore.
