SYP then make it a bubble trip for all away fans attending Hillsborough. They have to be booked on a coach, stop at a rendezvous point to pick up their tickets and the coaches are then escorted in and are made to park on Parkside Road. Behind the South stand is fenced off so that away fans have to come into the ground from Parkside Road over the bridge and make their way back to the coaches the same way. Doing this means there is zero chance of any interaction between home and away fans. The downside is is that home fans on the South would need to exit via Penistone Road. TBH there are a few potential solutions to the issue. If the club suggest them and they are knocked back then yes, it smacks of a vendetta against us. WatfordOwl Posted August 12, 2019 Share Posted August 12, 2019 The whole thing whilst may be having supporter safety at the heart of it, will only add fuel to the fire that Hillsborough is not fit for purpose. I would be interested to know just how many other grounds up and down the country, are having the same kind of restrictions applied or if this is as we all seem to feel, an agenda to further tar the club. I find it completely absurd that the vast majority of these decisions are based on 'think tanks' that have no real world experience of managing live events. There is a massive area which is perfect to hold back away fans............ its called the seat where they have spent the previous 90 minutes. In that case the club should suggest a cap on away fans of 1000, propose it to SAG and gauge their reaction. The easiest would be to give away fans part of the North, it'd be easy to segregate on both concourses and then build a fence that will make home fans on Lepp go down side of south stand....that way there'd be no contact. It is a completely unreasonable measure to go off. Fans can easily be held inside the stadium, including their seats if needed. toppOwl Posted August 12, 2019 Share Posted August 12, 2019 What the hell is going on here, it all smacks of a stitch up of some sort, we hosted Newcastle the season before last, they bought a large away following, no issues were reported, hundreds of games have been played without these restrictions and no problems occurred. The decision to play the last derby on a Monday seemed very strange at the time but could have been stage managed to illicit this situation. Club safety officer Richard Stanford has bent over backwards to implement anything that SAG have requested over the last few years and had seemed to have satisfied their demands so why this now. There's something sinister at work here and as fans we need to find out what the agenda is. Mr Chansiri must be beside himself with frustration. SYP are a disgrace to policing. Don't get me started on the game at Brammall Lane, that situation near the petrol station gets worse every time, the police are absolutely dense. Number of reports by SAG and SYP on suitability of the lane away end set up .... Zero... are we innocent fans at S6 no we’re not .. but we are no means the nastiest set of fans either. public safety do me a favour .. this is a vendetta by SAG (SUFC season tickets holders within the group) SYP ( suffering 89 handover) Sheffield City council treating us unjustly and damaging local businesses in the area.
