Really pleased with this. Nearly a month to wait is a bit frustrating and a concern that he isn’t going to come in until the transfer window has closed though. However a real sensible and exciting appointment from DC imo. Well done to the owner.

LB stays as a coach, which is good. I previously thought the whole team should be cleared but he's highly regarded by the players and as such, a valuable part of a squad.

Bruce already has a shopping list. The other Steves have not been at the matches just for fun.

Yea it’s proper frustrating we have to wait but can’t see him not doing anything he’ll be on the phone giving his input on things and hopefully steer dc in recruitment etc

I'm as pleased with the appointment of a full backroom team as I am anything else...

Welcome to Hillsborough, Steve, Stephen and Brucey!

Be interesting to hear the reason for the 1st Feb start - got a feeling it could be linked to the exit from Villa

Bruce starts on Feb 1st.

That's just means we will not see him in person till then.

But trust me every decision made from today will be his.

The reason for the 1st Feb start could well be linked to his pay off from villa

Delighted with this. Well done Chansiri for a fantastic appointment.

No problem with Bruce waiting a month if that’s what it takes to secure him. Not like our season is particularly going anywhere.

I am glad Steve Bruce is going to become manager would have been my first choice of realistic candidates.

Not sure I would have waited until 1st February but will wait and see what happens.

I think it may be more personal reasons - possibly promised his family he'd take a decent break after Villa, and maybe wants to get settled with a property in the area rather than commuting or living out of a hotel room.

With Jos, Bully, Clemence and Bruce we will have had 4 managers in 35 days. That must be a record.

Bump. With Agnew, actually 5. That will never be beaten. And we still have just under a month left.

Should survive this season comfortably so gives Bruce 3 months to give squad once over before (hopefully) improving squad in summer for a good go next season.

We're not going up or down this season so might as well wait.
