Popular Post Lord Snooty
"So, what do you know about Morecambe then?" "His real name was John Bartholomew" "Eh?" "He took his stage name from his home town. During his heyday with partner Ernie Wise, really Ernest Wiseman of course, their Christmas specials pulled in over 28m viewers." "Incredible-" "Indeed it is ,Sir , when you consider just 29 million people across public service broadcaster the BBC and commercial network ITV watched the Euro final last year. I doubt any comics will have that sort of pulling power again for one off shows on terrestrial" "No, I mean incredible that you have completely got the wrong end of the stick about Morecambe. I wanted to know about the football!" "I was just getting to the football, Sir. Morecambe was a Luton Town fan. It came after a move to Harpenden when his young son asked him to take him to a match. It was Luton or Watford and he opted for the former." "No, no, no! Morecambe FC" "Not, FC, Sir, Morecambe OBE. Order of the Empire for contribution to the arts " "You're having me on here!" "Indeed ,Sir. The truth is, I have been trying to distract you" "From what?" "From getting carried away, Sir. You've been very giddy about the football this week, and this sort of optimism always end in a fall. I just don't want it to be from a height. I don't want you to start getting carried away." "You're right of course. Experience tells me not to get too carried away where the Owls are concerned. You're quite right ,I need to reign it in a bit." "Very good, Sir. Do you have a prediction for tomorrow?" "Yes. It'll be a tough one all right. I think a conservative 5-0 to the Wednesday" "Ugh, it's started." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MORECAMBE -V- WEDNESDAY Kick off : 3:00pm Mazuma Stadium -------------------------- MORECAMBE Ahead of the game, manager Stephen Robinson admits that, despite expecting a tough challenge at the weekend, it’s one that the club looks forward to. “That’s what we’re here for,” Robinson said. “All that hard work last season and to get into this level of football, these are the games fans want to come to. “You seen the atmosphere on Tuesday night, it’ll be another full house on Saturday and we’re really looking forward to it. “Make no mistake, it’s a tough, tough challenge, they’ve not conceded a goal yet but hopefully we aim to change that.” POSSIBLE - : -------------------------- WEDNESDAY Owls: Sam Hutchinson will be assessed ahead of the game on Saturday. The defender has begun the season in fine form but picked up an injury in our 1-0 win over Fleetwood. He is rated ‘touch and go’ by manager Darren Moore to feature. Olamide Shodipo has trained with the squad this week but the Wednesday boss will not risk the QPR loanee this weekend and will give the forward more time on the training pitches. Elsewhere, Massimo Luongo has been ruled out, while Lewis Gibson is scheduled to resume full training from Monday. mozzy85
Going for a 3-0 win. Would love to keep the clean sheets going. Hopefully some of our wingers can get a goal or two. If we can get goals from all over the park then will start striking fear into the opposites.
Popular Post Pablo Bonvin
Hopeful for another win tomorrow, won’t be easy though and we need to make sure we’re playing all the right notes in the right order. 3 1
offalyowl
Classic again snoots, like the morecambe and wise spin, had a good laugh at that, great entertainers and I hope the owls will entertain us tomorrow with a 3 nil win, have a feeling Gregory will score again and another clean sheet and top of the league uto

Buck Rogers
I saw the interview with their manager and apparently they play entertaining stuff with a high press. This won't be easy but if we match them for enthusiasm and work ethic, our quality should win through. And I'm sure Moore has drilled that into them. Going for an unspectacular 0-1 win to the Owls.
Morepork
Another massive test, although for completely different reasons. Requires the same level of mental fortitude as a game against a promotion rival. Morecambe will have a togetherness that promoted teams possess and despite their league position they’ll back themselves to cause an upset. We’ll need to continue our improvement and battle it out. 1-2 Wednesday
catdog1121
By all accounts Morecambe have been unlucky with some of their results.. What they lack in skill they make up for in determination... At home against us will be like their cup final and i am sure they will step up their game... This is the sort of game we can slip up on, take our eye of the ball and think a win is a given. We have enough to win but I doubt we will have the game all our own way. Morecambe have had scoring troubles of their own, scoring as many as we have although they have shipped the same number, they will not be walk overs, they beat Blackburn Rovers and gave Preston a good run for their money.. Moore seems like the sort of manager that will know this and know that these sorts of games as well as the games fought at the top of the table are just as important if not more so. I think a 0-1 Cagey Wednesday Win, let us hope our good fortune continues.

OriginalAlien
I'm not buying into all this 'it'll be a tough game, we might get a hard-fought 0-1 win' nonsense. We are considerably better than Morecambe all over the pitch, playing with confidence and will only get better. I'm not saying we're going to win 4-0, 5-0, but wouldn't be surprised if we came away with a big win. What I am saying is that we should be going into this game with confidence and an expectation that we'll be adding another 3 points to the total. Of course things can, and often do go wrong, but heading into the game, I'm happy to say WE WILL WIN. 3

striker
A winnable game, but not to be taken for granted, we'll have to work hard for points. We've had a full week to prepare, expect plenty of energy and would like to see us dominate the ball for longer, as the team settles down. Last game before an international break, so hope we make it count. We've had an excellent start, would like to think we can consolidate with at least a point, but very capable of winning 3. 0-2 Wednesday Edited August 28, 2021 by striker

Orlando_Trustful
Arguably our hardest game. These away games at smaller teams are harder than the likes of Rotherham or Charlton for me. 1 v 1
