Popular Post Lord Snooty
HELLO! HELLO! HELLO! HELLO! IS THERE ANYBODY THERE? THERE THERE THERE Just the few hardy souls eh? The desperadoes. The afflicted. Those who can't resist a pick at the scab. Down here with me. In this pit. Well this is it chaps. Defeat tonight and a Derby win at Preston and that's that. The fat lady's last note. The final curtain. It's sink or swim Tonight will be the confirmation nail. There's really little more to be said... Luckily we have a team of real battlers out there, battlers with that bit of quality that you get when you spend the sort of money we throw about on wages. So there's a chance yet. A chance yet! "Sir! Sir wake up. Oh no, you haven't been at it again have you? Are you ok?" "Eh, what, Maldini ..." "No Maldini , Sir. Just Adam Reach sticking a toe at it." "Is it over Stubbs? Is it all over. Am I in the... the Infirmary?" "No ,Sir. You're not. Infact the game doesn't even kick off until 7pm" "Oh. Oh I see. Pass me some more." "Sir, I really think." "More!" "Very well. Though I must make it plain I don't agree" "Thank you. Dear friend. Thank you. 'tis the only way to cope with the Wednesday. Ahh....ahh that's better...it's sunny.....we're after Kinglsey Black apparently incase we don't get Lombardo, and Robbie Earle is being linked....gets goals from midfield you know." -------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------- WEDNESDAY V's BLACKBURN April 20, 2021 7pm UK Hillsborough ------------------------- WEDNESDAY------------------------- Joost van Aken and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru both made their returns from injury as they were included in the matchday squad on Saturday, while Chey Dunkley is nearing a return at the end of a campaign clouded by injury. ------------------------- BLACKBURN ROVERS------------------------- A 2-1 win over Derby County on Friday night, thanks to goals from Sam Gallagher and Harvey Elliott, was their first victory in eight matches and only their second since the end of January. Only Preston North End (four) and Huddersfield Town (three) have won fewer Championship games in 2021 than Blackburn (five), but three of those have come away from home. Meanwhile, only Brentford, Norwich City and Bournemouth have scored more goals on the road this season than Mowbray's side. Rovers currently sit 15th on 50 points and will be keen to end a disappointing campaign on a high as all of their final four games are against bottom-seven sides. Mowbray could name an unchanged team after hitting on a winning formula against Derby. Midfielder Lewis Travis completed 90 minutes for the first time since the beginning of February against the Rams and has called on his teammates to "win all of the remaining games" to secure a top-half finish. Elliott's winning strike on Friday was the teenager's first goal in 11 appearances, and he will be keen to end his loan spell at Rovers in good form as his stock continues to rise. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Edited April 20, 2021 by Lord Snooty 23 8 4
soldierboyblue
We just need to show up - even if we lose tonight and go down swinging I will still be hacked off immensely but we need to show up and attack attack attack. Good post by the way Snoots!
dr. benway
What time do you call this? Apathy reigning at this club! Struggling to get interested today. Putting all my eggs in the league restructuring basket and hoping we can write this entire season off and erase it from memory and record.
Rogerwyldesmullet
Thanks M’lud for bravely keeping up spirits in these dire times. I think that we will dominate possession and lose 0-2. But no worry, tomorrow we will join a breakaway Super League1 with Hull Sunderland and Pompey and play each other 12x a season.
Maddogbob
Happy relegation day everyone. Nah only kidding. Reckon we are going to win tonight.
Joe Jockstrap
What a God awful season this has been. I really can’t say much more, we have been pitiful. See you next season, Tuesday night in some place I’ve never been to and ever wanted to go to. It will of course be lashing it down. One simply cannot wait, cheers Wednesday. I also think we’ll lose tonight. Bring on the cans and bottles of vino.
FinnishOwl
Thank you Snoots. I hope the fat lady sings the high C so loud that the other C's glass bubble finally cracks. I don't know what to expect from today. A loss would mean that we might see the young lads in the last few games which cannot be worse than what we've mostly seen lately. Flat Owl
Nice one Snoots. Greed has played its part in S6 too. £350M and no ground to end up relegated. Spectacular.
Ethel The Tree
When it comes to the vote for Player of the Season, I reckon you've already won it, Lord Snooty. Hands down Actually, I DO think there's one clear contender on the pitch too, but that's for another time Meanwhile, thanks for all the OMDTs. Helps keep me sane
Manwë
Can see us winning tonight. Blackburn, former PL champions, will be wrecked by not being invited to the European Super League and their players will be devastated, their minds elsewhere. Everything is pointing in our favour right now. We have the players, the talent, the fight and the tactics to see this through. The fightback starts now.
S36 OWL
Was starting to wonder if the rumours were right @Lord Snooty, and you had seen the pound signs and left to join the European Super Forum, what with the OMDT being so late.
Lord Snooty
Just now, S36 OWL said: Was starting to wonder if the rumours were right @Lord Snooty, and you had seen the pound signs and left to join the European Super Forum, what with the OMDT being so late. Thought I'd leave it until the last minute. Like Wednesday do when they collapse.
striker
Another game closer to relegation, but on the bright side another game closer to not having to watch most of this group play in a Wednesday shirt again. They've shown for years they haven't got any fight, bottle big games, so nothing is going to change tonight. If I'm honest, finding it difficult to care about this game as it's irrelevant, a dead rubber. I'd be more interested in a team containing the likes of Brennan, Galvin etc to prepare for next season, this season is done.
Pablo Bonvin
Oh no. There's another bloody game tonight? I'm sure there's been about 100 games this season. It's been a real drag, it really has, following this team. Absolutely zero satisfaction or enjoyment. Another defeat looms while our team of elite professionals ponder their next pay cheques elsewhere. Come on fat lady: do your worst.
SwellOwl
The posts @Lord Snootyhas been the best part of matchday. A backhanded compliment some might say, however, I meant my comment with the best intentions! I would think it would be classic Wednesday to be relegated on last game of season. 2-1 win for the Owls, drag this torture out for a few more days. sternlad
Thanks again Snoots for trying to lift our spirits! It’s been a noble attempt by you all season to paint this dreadful picture with a splash of colour...but we are a completely monochrome team. Not enough character, ideas, flair or passion to beat 10 men on Saturday...any other team would have hammered Bristol into the middle of next week. Another draw toneet I fear...can’t see a speedy return from League One given our past fortunes down there...maybe another day out at the play offs one day. The most interesting thing to look forward to is how many of the scrimshankers we get rid of in the Summer.
Flat Owl
Snoots OMDTs has been a lighthouse in this seasons sea of s**t. A consistent 9/10. Numbers have dwindled as they have drawn their last breath and sunk to the depths as the rest cling on to the burning debris of HMS PTL run onto the rocks by an incompetent captain, his hapless mate who has filled his pockets and its weak crew.... One last COME ON WEDNESDAY. but many more F**K OFF CHANSIRI AND PAXO before I give up.
NobbyStyle
Great OMDT Lord Snooty again! Interesting comparison with Maldini & Reach. The Italian legend once famously said “if I have to make the tackle then I have already made a mistake”. Well 50-100% like our Adam at least. Is it curtains or will the agony be prolonged? Only prediction I’d make is to say I can’t see Derby winning at Preston. It’s the (unrealistic) hope that kills you. Anyway UTO
