They finished second from bottom on merit in a league where three teams go down. And they are whining because they EFL failed to relegate two teams from a stronger position on non-footballing technicalities. I could understand if they finished 3rd from bottom on merit and were disappointed that one team hadn't been demoted to save them, but two? The verdict was 10 and it wasn't enough to keep us safe. Whatever your view of the Wednesday case it has been handled appallingly by the Officers and/or staff of the “EFL” not the clubs themselves. And to pass comment about the integrity of of D.C. because English is not his first language and he used an interpreter is disgusting. So anyone with a bigger wage budget and transfer budget than Charlton are cheating then. Much like all these teams that get to the Premier League and overspend, then get support for being relegated, so they can keep overspending. Bournemouth for example had to compete at the same level with Man City, I wonder what the difference in budgets are? Football is not and has not been a level playing field ever.
