Then went to Villa for the penultimate game of the season and got absolutely dicked, meaning their goal difference was catchable for those below them. Got relegated. Colin kicked off about Liverpool playing weakened side but did same against Villa when they got hammered. It seems blindingly obvious that "appealling" that the sanction on WHU was too light was nonsense chiefly because it was literally nothing to do with them and even if it was the argument seemed to be that the decision was wrong which is scacely something for a court to fix. But it was equally obvious they might in theory have a tort case against WHU which indeed did duly emerge but not for months. Meanwhile they wasted a summer blighted by legal nonsense. Before signing the new deal he would probably only go to a real top club, one who would happily buy out a contract if they really wanted him anyway.
