A Nightmare on Jihadi John Street

Still makes me laugh...

They were 10 points clear with around 10 games to go?

Actually beat West Ham (with Tevez) at the Lane.

Then went to Villa for the penultimate game of the season and got absolutely dicked, meaning their goal difference was catchable for those below them.

Got relegated.

But yeah, it was all down to Tevez...who only bothered to turn up for the final third of the season.

Think he's talking about recalling him now?

Nein, the articles I have read seem to be on about next season. Shame.

Goalkeeper Jake Eastwood has been recalled by parent club Sheffield United, cutting short his season-long loan with the Iron. The 23-year-old made a total of 16 appearances for the club, including 10 league starts, keeping a total of seven clean sheets

why would they recall him if they didn't need him?

They only have one 'keeper.

That Verrips went off with concussion so could be out for a few weeks.

Colin kicked off about Liverpool playing weakened side but did same against Villa when they got hammered.

Those were really odd times. It seems blindingly obvious that "appealling" that the sanction on WHU was too light was nonsense chiefly because it was literally nothing to do with them and even if it was the argument seemed to be that the decision was wrong which is scacely something for a court to fix.

But it was equally obvious they might in theory have a tort case against WHU which indeed did duly emerge but not for months.

Meanwhile they wasted a summer blighted by legal nonsense.

All very odd

Meh.

Contracts mean very little in football.

He's on a high and is going to take advantage whilst he can.

Exactly. Doesn’t change much apart from his bank balance. Before signing the new deal he would probably only go to a real top club, one who would happily buy out a contract if they really wanted him anyway.
