Sean Clare Signing for

BIG D

What a backwards step, turning down a new contract to sign for Hearts

Nothing against them but it is hardly Villa or Swansea the clubs he was linked with earlier in the summer

A big mistake on his part as he no doubt would have improved under Jos and nailed down a regular first team position

They averaged 18k last season .  We averaged 25k.

Couldn't be arsed to look up Swansea, but do you think a freshly relegated PL squad wouldn't easily exceed 18k?

Crap league? Recent transfers out of the league for BIG money include

John Mcginn

Moussa Dembele

Stuart Armstrong

All of which would quite easily walk into our starting XI.

Dembele was hardly forged in the SPL.  He’d scored loads for Fulham and wants back out again.

The constant drain of players from Scotland to England suggests the difference in quality in more general terms.

Its a good place for players to go and do well but they usually want to then earn a move South to the championship or PL. At face value with Clare he could’ve skipped this bit.

Hearts averaged 18k last season, so no he won't. As for SPL, 7 out of 12 teams had an average attendance of less than 6k. Hardly comparable to the Championship. All this plus Clare is not guaranteed to play, when I'm sure he would have been in Jos's plans.

Why do you think this is a bad move for Clare ? He will certainly get to play lot more then he would if he signed with us.

We often prize youngsters leaving Premiership clubs to make a step down for better chance of first team football, and I don't see how Clare's situation is any different ?!

I'm sure he would have resigned if he thought he could become a fixture in our starting 11 like Thorniley and Penney did.
