Connor Goldson to Rangers for 3m.. feels like we've missed out there.

He could be good but I wouldn’t be impressed if we’d taken this risk.

He’s played 8 matches combined  in the past 2 seasons.  He’s only played a total of 29 Championship matches.

Far from convinced.

That'll be due the major heart surgery he had last year.

Umar Sadiq. It's happening. Striker on loan at Nac Breda last season from AS Roma. Big lad.

Jos has connections at Nic Nac Breda, hence setting up our friendly. Nailed on. Possibly.

Apparently Rangers want him on loan too

Venancio is just as good and far less of a fee.

Gianni Zuiverloon, apparently.

I can't see a 31 year old right back fitting in with our strategy of signing younger players and lowering thew age of the squad...

£3m for a lad with a dicky ticker? Bullet dodged imo.

Abdi has been out for 9 years with eczema so our medical team may struggle with this one.

To an extent I agree, as a backup sitting midfielder he's a fantastic option to have.

However, he's very possibly one of the highest earners at the club. Depending on finances, it might be important to be pragmatic. However, he does do a job, and there's no doubting his experience and professionalism would be important.

Fantastic? What makes you arrive at that?

He’s basically a very slight upgrade on Darren Potter at this stage of his career.

Could be something here. Heard it from a friend who, heard it from a friend who, heard it from another etc etc.

Apparently comes from a Scunthorpe FC aquaintance that we have put a bid in for one of their players. Centre half Murray Wallace would seem to be most obvious target although a midfielder called Hakeeb Adelakun is out of contract.

Dont know these two at all and its not exactly solid gold but it's a long summer int it.

Fox would look a world beater playing in Scotland most of the teams are league 1 standard other than the top 3.

for me Venancio at £800k looks a steal but we still have not announced his signing. When you look at £3m for a player with no experience we will be fools not to sign him up quickly.

He could well prove to be a real coup for someone this summer.

Quick, direct, strong...very similar to the Antonio, Bolaise mould...very raw, but bags of potential. If he hits it off at the right club, he'll make some club an absolute fortune.

If we were to sign him, I'd be delighted. Could prove to be a good alternative to Joao on the right wing in a 3-4-3.

He has play 130 games for scunning scoring 15 goals so 1 in 8 in league 1 he has only played 30 of 46 league games and scored 3 goals this season. Has he had injuries or not played every game.

Heard a lot of people mention him but other than being in the same boat as anyone getting Clare or Hirst as he is 21 and will command a development fee.

Does anyone have real information if he is any good. As Madison at Peterborough looks a much better option and scored and created goals

Was just about to post the same thing.

I see Hull, Forest and Sunderland are all reportedly interested and this is probably the standard of club we will compete against this summer due to our FFP issues, but it doesn’t mean they won’t be after some decent players with potential.

Madison would cost about 6x as much though. Adelakun has "only" been at Scunthorpe for 6 years, so that would help mitigate against a very high sell-on fee a little. Can't see Adelakun coming north of a million, possibly even £750k... Posh want a few mil for Madison. In today's market, who could blame them. Though there's a point, maybe we'll see an inflation in signing-on fees to reflect the big bucks flying around?

Crikey football's broken.

He's a young lad, who physically has grown into a very effective player. And, having seen Scunthorpe on a few occasions, and been very impressed, he and Josh Morris are a cut above.

Morris is technically a very good player...way above league one level. Adelakun has unpredictability and directness which you cannot teach...yes, technically he can improve, but young player with Hakeem physical make up should improve technically when playing with the likes of Forestieri, Hooper, Joao, Bannan etc.

He's not the finished article, but for a small six figure compensation fee, he could repay that ten fold, if he continues his upward trajectory he's shown over recent seasons.

As for Madison, dream on. Peterborough are quoting silly money. He might be currently the more rounded player, but for the money, I'd rather us take a punt on Adelakun.

(Both Adelakun and Maddison have played a similar number of league games. Adelakun is two years younger however. How many people would have recommended Maddison as a signing two seasons ago?)
