Popular Post Lord Snooty
"Doncaster tomorrow, Stubbs. Is it still the AIDS and teenage pregnancy capital of Europe?" "Sir, must we do this every week?" "Do what?" "Besmirch the towns of the opposition with this infantile put downs and predudices. It is football after-all, there is little need to go into the other stuff. " "Hang on b-gad! It was you, last week, rambling on about bricks and dwarfs! That has nothing to do with football!" "That was a look at their town, Sir". "As I am with my question about Doncaster." "I meant, a factual , positive look, Sir. Why does everything have to be negative" "What's positive about bricks! "Well, you're living in a large pile of them, Sir. The world would be a different, maybe lesser place without them?" "Mmmmm. an interesting point. If it wasn't for bricks, well, where would we be I suppose? Gosh, I'll tell you, Stubbs, we'd be living in shipping containers , wearing second hand clothes, and drinking our beer out of jam jars, that's where! " "Actually shipping container chic and drinking from jars is very 2022, Sir. I don't know if you've been to Kelham Is-" "No, no, no! Give me bricks anyday! Give me the mundane! Give me, dare I say it...normal! You're right. Give me some facts about Doncaster! I'll behave.. I'm sorry." "Crapper, Sir" "Exactly! This is what I've been saying. Glad you've come to my way of thinking. That's what I was saying from the start, it's an absolute hole." "No Sir. Thomas Crapper, son of Doncaster, an engineer that revolutionised home sanitation when he invented the U-bend.." "Invented the U-bend! Is that their gift to the world?" "He also invented the floating ballcock" "Aye, a load of ballcocks all right." "Oh forget it." "I'm sorry, do go on. Sorry. Think positive. Think positive. Any other famous sons of Doncaster?" "Not off the top of my head ,Sir, No" "I can think of one Stubbs. Jeremy Clarkson!" "...." "Stubbs?" "...." "Stubbs, are you all right?" "You're right, Sir. It's a hole that has done nothing for the world. I'll grab the swan vesta and the jerry can and I'll see if i can smarten it up a bit" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DONCASTER ROVERS V SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY Feb 19, 2022 Kick off 3pm The Keepmoat Stadium ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ROVERS Doncaster were indebted by a Dan Gardner penalty 10 minutes from time against Lincoln, with the midfield anchor-man expected to feature on Saturday. Top scorer Tommy Rowe will line up with Matt Smith in midfield with Gardner sat at the base, and the width coming from wing-backs Ben Jackson and Kyle Knoyle either side. Leading the line will be Reo Griffiths and Josh Martin, with the pair no doubt desperate to end their woes in front of goal. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WEDNESDAY It has not been the return to English football that Saido Berahino may have wished for, having netted just once since joining from Zulte Waregem at the beginning of the season however there has been much speculation this week that the former WBA starlet is in line for a recall. He has found minutes hard to come by so far and is likely to be kept on the bench, with starting berths handed to Callum Paterson and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing in recent weeks. An inury to Mendez-Laing will push him up the pecking order. Barry Bannan, George Byers and Massimo Luongo will play in midfield, where surely they must be the best triumvirate in the division. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18 6
parkfieldowl14
Excellent Work again M’lord in regards to the OMDT. As for tomorrow, it will be a difficult game given Donny’s last two results, So I’ll go for a 2-1 win. Come on Wednesday.
Popular Post Emerson Thome
Very similar to last time, seeing as they didn't play on Wednesday evening, but here's the squad Darren Moore has to choose from. Stat of the Week: Barry Bannan has 47 league assists for Wednesday, and 49 in all competitions. If he makes it to 50 he'll be the first player to reach this milestone since David Hirst. 9 1

Holmowl
Looking forward to today. Hope Moore does the obvious, by pairing Sow with Kamberi - the only two proper strikers the only two who have a reasonable scoring rate this season. Paterson and Berahino are totally barren. Berahino last scored early September; Paterson last scored early October. I assume Brennan comes in for Hutch. Why would Moore play a 50:50 Hutch with 4 games in 14 days? I’d like to see how Storey does with the added responsibilities of being the middle CB. He’s been impressive on the right.

KcebSWFC11
This is a huge day. Today we cement ourselves in the playoffs & I don’t expect us to leave the playoff positions until we are back in the big time. Then I can grumble about only being a mid table premier league side. Can’t wait, I love football. Trying not to get ahead of myself as usual but I’m already hoping we start our first season back like we did that season a few years back when Andy Booth kept smashing them in & we were top after 4 games. We’re on our way!
A47Owl
Half a job today Snooty's. No form table, no previous results, no mention of our away support. Early mornings getting to you? Apart from that, your usual brilliant summary. 4067 supporters will make the short trip across the moat. Previous record against them doesn't look good. Things, have to change Scrappy 2-1 win for us. ******************** FORM GUIDE (League One) Owls: WWWWL Doncaster: LWLLW PREVIOUS MEETINGS 14 Aug 2021 | Owls 2-0 Doncaster | League One 22 Mar 2014 | Doncaster 1-0 Owls | Championship 28 Sept 2013 | Owls 0-1 Doncaster | Championship 16 Feb 2010 | Owls 0-2 Doncaster | Championship 8 Dec 2009 | Doncaster 1-0 Owls | Championship

doubleo
Thanks Snoots. Fed up of saying it’s a Sh*t or Bust match - so - we just really really really need a win. There, that should do it.

striker
A game we should be winning, but losing yet another two key players to injury further levels the playing field. Christ knows how we're going to fill the bench, at this rate the kit man going to be printing himself a shirt number. The team more or less picks itself, we have to start with forwards, not Paterson. Surely his role now in midfield as a sub.to protect the legs of whoever comes off in the second half. Midfield strong, defence ok but lacking the experience of Hutchinson to see and mop up danger, up front unknown but has been misfiring for weeks so can't get much worse and freshness needed. Sow is probably the sensible choice to partner Kamberi, but have a feeling Moore wants to reintroduce Berahino. I don't mind who as long as it's not Paterson up there. Still think we can sneak a 1-0 win. Not many goals in this team though. Just no more injuries please today, enough is enough.
