Try to think about it before you look at the answer (in bold) below.

Question - when did we last win a game without Rhodes in the starting line-up?

Answer - 2nd February, 20 games ago, Bournemouth away.

Without Rhodes P8. W0. D2. L6 (draws Forest and Bristol C)
With Rhodes P11. W4. D1. L6

With Rhodes starting we don’t become Brazil, but without him we do become Barnstoneworth.

Moore clearly thinks we are a better side without Rhodes. He is wrong.

If you’ve got eyes you can see on the pitch that simply isn’t true. If you’ve got eyes and half a brain you can see from our results that simply isn’t true.

If we are to beat Derby we cannot field a starting Xl proven it can’t win. Rhodes just has to start.

Those figure speak volumes but he needs to play with another, what’s the stats with Rhodes and Patti up front?

Hard to argue against those stats but I don’t rate Rhodes at all.

Doesn’t matter.

Whatever your/our opinion of him, without him we almost certainly cannot win.

There may as well be a brick wall between the stats and people’s perception of JR.

That said, it’s academic because there must be a financial reason for him not starting games.

Rhodes is our only CF we’ve got. Him and Windass should be starting every game. Plus Rhodes’ link up play this year is much better than in previous seasons. I really don’t know why he’s not starting.

And based on these stats there could easily be severe financial implications for not starting him.

I’m no fan of Rhodes at all, in fact he’s just a very average footballer. But, he must start in a conventional 3-5-2 alongside windass next week. Absolute no brainer. Bring El Pato into midfield alongside Bannan and joey. Palmer to ring wing back. The only question mark I have is whether who comes into the back 3. After Borner’s performance yesterday, you could argue that both Osaze and Dunkley should both come in but that would be big changes to the back 3.

Rhodes and Windass up top - just has to be for Derby.

Paterson in midfield with instructions to get into the box as often as possible. I’d consider playing Shaw because because again he’s got the engine to get into the box. One game left in his Wednesday career - make it count.

We can’t set off slowly, finding our feet, slowly into the game. We cannot afford to go behind so got to get at them. They know a draw is ok so they’ll probably sit back.

Its there for us

Not been a JR 'fan' but in our current situation i agree with you,it isnt just about starting him though is it? If DM started him,but played him up front on his own, starved of service, what difference would it make?

NO he heeded starting as part of a '2' with JW and with Patterson playing behind them in midfield. What on earth was there to lose?

Good fortune alone stopped us  losing by 2 or 3 goals to nil yesterday, and that includes WW excellent penalty save.

If there is a financial reason for not starting him we have 5 substitutes, which we never use anyway so bring him on after the first minute.
