Calling the game off because the pitch is frozen is one thing

But you do have to ask why not include the actual reason in the announcement? Would stop all the rumours, guesses and bad feeling instantly if they said what had caused it given we have undersoil heating and a Desso pitch?

SUCH BAD BAD BAD PR - AGAIN

Quite.

Let's us all speculate.

Club are run by donkeys.

Because I’m guessing the real reason would cause even more bad PR...

So embarrassing.

Honestly, if we manage to stop up this season, it'll be a miracle.

There are 5 aside teams who are run more professionally than we are.

@mcmigo said it in another thread. If Thompson keeps us up this season he deserves a statue. I’m genuinely starting to think he has reasonable grounds for one if he does.

lol

Yep. No benefit in stating the money flow is done is there?

Its all infront of us.

Pitch in disrepair.

Undersoil heating not funded

Seats and ground becoming knackered.

Players wages regularly late.

2x free transfers and we couldn't afford transfer fees up front.

Contracts offered to players that havent signed.

Dismal. He's obviously done.

The Bantams’ Sky Bet League Two visit of Salford City - scheduled for 3.00pm tomorrow (Saturday February 13) - has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Following a pitch inspection at 1.00pm this afternoon, the playing surface at the Utilita Energy Stadium has been deemed unsafe for use, and the fixture has been cancelled by the EFL.

As a result of freezing conditions this week, and with temperatures set to drop as low as minus six degrees Celsius again this evening, the game has been postponed on the basis the pitch will still be unplayable by 3.00pm tomorrow.

City’s chief executive officer, Ryan Sparks, said: “We have made every effort to ensure tomorrow’s game could have happened, with the pitch covered and heating devices brought in - to battle the frost.

“Our ground staff, who have worked through the night - and tirelessly over the course of the week - deserve a great deal of credit for everything they have done, in going beyond the call of duty.

“Unfortunately, our efforts have proven futile, and the weather looks set to worsen still over the next 24 hours. Not only does this wipe out tomorrow, it sadly brings too much doubt into play for a potential Sunday rearrangement.

“In our view, a significant proportion of the surface would be playable. However, towards the TL Dallas Stand, the pitch is struggling to deal with conditions being thrown at it.

“We have kept in close contact with Salford City, and I would like to thank Gary Neville and his colleagues for their co-operation. Both clubs have explored every avenue in an attempt to avoid this outcome.

“We are very disappointed the game has been postponed, and we must now fit another fixture into what is becoming an increasingly busy schedule of rearranged ties.

“Our full attention now switches to Tuesday evening and ensuring there are no threats facing our Sky Bet League Two meeting with Morecambe.”

Supporters who purchased an iFollow video match pass for tomorrow’s encounter will automatically be granted access for the rearranged clash. Announcements on when this will be scheduled to take place will be made in due course.

Customers v Fans.

In fact less than customers. Customers would get better.

Embarrassing a team two divisions below us make us look amateur in giving out communications.

We need a business structure in place with people running the club day-to-day, until then we will continue to have issues.

In all seriousness, this is a professional football club in the 2nd tier of English football, with 320.3k followers on Twitter....

My amateur team would put out a more detailed explanation than that....and our centre forward is genuinely nicknamed 'Big Phil'.  Shambolic.

Yep that puts us to shame.

One of the first rules of a press release/statement is to include a quote from a senior figure to back up and support the release.

Poor. Really poor. I suppose if DC is not willing to provide a quote, there’s literally no one running the club day to day to do this for the fans and the media.

Shambles.

All indicators point to the club having cash flow problems. It may be seen as an unnecessary extra cost.

Whose fault is that?
