Swansea game called off

One of the coldest nights of the year last night, just above freezing today, -5 tonight.  Coupled with uneven pitch and Swansea having to travel today, seems logical to call it off - an EFL Referee makes the decision not the Club.

No-one seems to have mentioned the ploughed field that was Oakwell last night, nor the sorry-looking Elland Road pitch.  The long period of very wet weather, combined with freezing temperatures, has played havoc with groundsmen's plans this season.

Oh! and by the way we have "a lot of very tired legs out there."  Good time for a few more days of rest?

The players will have a rest of 3-4 days now but wont it mean less of break later on in season when we will probably be even more glad of a break?

Maybe. Probably just thinking about the rest they got now though, not what may happen in a few weeks time.

You don't think the chairman has the portable undersoil heating thermostat unit in his pocket in Thailand by accident do you? 🤣

It’s on Hive. Groundsman keeps turning up the heat and he keeps overriding it.

A detailed statement like the one Bradford issued would simply and quickly stop the rumours and unrest spreading.

All about having solid communications.

Referee called game off - frozen pitch.

All I’ve been ever used to you big drama queen.

I don't see why under soil heating shouldn't have been effective. Maybe if our players are as knackered as intimated, a tactical postponement.

We will be forced to shoehorn fixtures in somewhere so whether now or later in the season, doesn't matter really.

A few more days rest before Stoke and Birmingham welcome. These two are important games.
