A player who is RAPID and can outpace everyone easily but can’t control the ball or shoot on target very well

OR

A player who can control the ball, pass and shoot well but is slow as running through treacle?

The latter or Usain Bolt would have been signed up in the Prem.

A good footballer is always better than a fast runner who can't play.

Loads of clubs have tried it out.

Ideally you want a good footballer that is quick. Rather than a fast runner that is average at football...

Stands to reason otherwise most clubs would have Olympic sprinters in the team.

John Sheridan springs to mind for the latter, wish we had him now, Harris works his socks off but is a one trick pony with no footballing brain.

Depends on how the slow player can read the game and position himself.

I’d go with skill every time.

Would you rather have Jeramy Helen or John Sheridan (Shez wasn’t too slow though)

Agree with you 100%. But Sheridan is a club legend as raw pace wasn’t / isn’t as important an attribute for a midfield playmaker. Harris will never be a Wednesday legend (not his fault ) but pace is more important for wingers. In the modern game you might not be able to get into the position to use skill without pace ?
