Here's how the Championship League Table looks today

Just been looking at the relegation odds for the Championship. Ours are so short for the league position we are in. Do the bookies know something or is it just a case of covering their backs incase of a deduction?

I’d say the latter. Nobody has a clue what the EFL are doing, and that includes the EFL

Win tomorrow and I think we are just about safe even with a 12 point deduction as we'd be 13 points clear of Barnsley and we have better GD than Wigan, Luton and Barnsley.

Another draw or two from last 4 games and think we'd be fine, Barnsley have a horror run in particular.

Are we?

8 points clear of third bottom with 5 to go?

10 points. Wigan are bottom of the table now so 10 clear of 3rd placed Barnsley even if the tables haven't officially updated it.

When you think about it.

In a league where over the last few seasons about 45 points has been enough to stay up.

We had nearly 40 points going into Christmas and we are still pooing it over relegation.

It's been a vile 2020. Even for our millenially cursed club. Absolute ******** season.

But don’t forget Monk deserves the chance to rebuild the team some say.

Is it definite Wigan will get the 12 point deduction this season (as long as they aren’t in the bottom 3 without one)?

If Wigan finish above third from bottom, the 12 points is deducted this season.

If Wigan finish in the bottom three, they start next season on -12.

If they can muster a three wins out of the final games, they could be deducted points and still stay up.

Good luck to them.

Yeah it's done. Most Championship review shows already have updated tables with them bottom.

According to the EFL statement today the penalty will apply this season unless they finish in the bottom 3 anyway. So assuming you take 12 off them they are 14 behind us so would need to win 5 of their remaining games to catch us, they also have Barnsley, Luton and I think someone else below us to play so all of them can’t get the points. Plus it’s not just the 3rd bottom team that has to get the points to catch us, it’s the other 6 teams between us as well.

Yes, 10/11 points clear of Barnsley/Luton who have 4 games left and a much worse goal difference. 14 points clear of Wigan after their deduction applied.

That's how we stand, bar any further interference from EFL.
