I think he has the potential to become a really good player with the right manager. Bruce might just be that man.

Remember we only really saw him under throw and even Eden Hazard would end up looking average playing for him.

This purchase would be different as there's good potential for at least making a small profit (assuming the fee is reasonable) - he's got the quality but as the article says he needs the consistency. If he develops and fulfils his potential it could turn out to be a very astute signing.

Some very average young English players have gone for silly money in recent seasons. Longer term (depending on the fee) this has to be the plan - buy low and selling high. An England u21 international getting no where near the spurs team is not a bad place to potentially turn a profit on.

He’s the only one of the many we’ve been linked with, who really appeals Good age and pedigree, seems to have all the tools, and has worked with the manager before Yes, there are reservations about his consistency levels, but that is probably why a club like us could manage to sign him.

Injured for a fair bit of time he was with us. Didn’t look bothered in the majority of other games. To spend “millions” on him would be a mistake imo. Would only bring him in on loan at the most personally.

Going on your posts in various threads.  It's coming across that you have no faith in Steve Bruce.  Do you think it's time we replaced him?

I'll be very concerned if we spend any £ on this guy.

It will mean we've learned nothing from the past 3 years.

Correct. It seems at the moment we are being linked with anyone who has great potential but is injury prone. Agents probably see us as a soft touch.

Any story that quotes Noel Whelan as a "Championship expert"...  lol

However, if our ground has indeed been sold then we have money to spend, and multi-millions on 22 year old graduates from top Premier League academies is where some of our original transfer spending should have been targeted.

Onomah has got the talent to be a really good player.  Whether he achieves that is a different matter, but I would be happy if this is an indicator of the type of business we're looking to do - buying young players to develop, with resale value, is the way to go.

You seem less bothered about the player being injured most of the season on this occasion.

Application would be the tool he seems to be missing and that’s a pretty key one.

You are talking about a club who have no idea how to turn a profit when it comes to selling players.
