Time to drop Beadle

Recommended Posts

Do people really think he’s playing out from the back with them 4 in front of him off his own back? He must absolutely dread passing short to Ihiekwe and co, but he’s under instruction. He’d probably love to boom it miles every goal kick and not have to pass to that back 4 tonight, but he’s under instruction to do. Ederson’s footwork would look questionable when he’s having to play out to Diaby, Famewo, Iorfa and Ihiekwe. Give the lad a break, he’s made 2 blinding saves tonight and kept us in it.

I thought he had a good game Röhl and his coaches should just tell him to concentrate on his goalkeeping and if in doubt just kick it down field, it's not fair on the young lad to have play like that

Exactly.

He played to instruction first half.

Admittedly, Danny didn’t say pass it to a yellow shirt, but the warning signs were so clear that Danny should have given the instruction to launch for 15 minutes while we settled.

Don't be a doober, the defenders put him under unnecessary pressure by playing the ball back to him - as they haven't got the ability to pick an outfield player out!  Simple as that.

Beadle could have just booted it but decided to be clever with it

The only criticism I have of him is his decision making as to when to distribute short.

Against Middlesbrough he got booked for time wasting and was clearly rattled from it... 2 mins later and after playing it short we concede. Boro had so evidently figured our press out. Today he plays it short consistely and at minute 15 he plays it short... we lose it because by point they figured out the press... 2 mins later we concede. Five mins later we concede again.

The kid is going to make mistakes, but as a goalkeeper he is very good. Honestly think he concedes three fewer goals in those two games if he just reads the room and kicks it long for the next 10 minutes until things settle down.

All that said... decent keeper.

Beadle is a better keeper than Dawson and he’s so much younger and will get better. He and the defence play the way they are told to by the manager. Dawson simply doesn’t have the footballing skills in his locker.  It’s not been a great night for playing out but he’s a definite upgrade on Dawson in this aspect.  DR got the formation completely wrong first half but showed he’s a manager by changing it in the second.

Yes he makes some decent saves, but his footwork and kicking skills are no where near acceptable. I don't think Dawson is as bad with his footwork and definitely not as bad with his kicking.

Think Dawson needs to play for the remaining games.

What's your thoughts?

Think this is either a pi55 take or someone who has no idea about football
