Cheltenham tried to replicate the tactics of teams who have chased us about everywhere, but simply didn't have the legs to keep it up, they ran out of steam. Bad news for Lord Snooty btw, no tea tonight for him. Seems Stubbs has been moonlighting and he scored two goals for Exeter today. 0114 Posted March 26, 2022 Share Posted March 26, 2022 Great win. Score doesn’t replicate how tough a game we had. Cheltenham came and had a go and caused us some issues. But we were really gritty and scored goals at the right times. Once the 3rd went in their heads went. If the last few weeks have taught us anything, it is that we can play well & get results against teams that come and have a go like Cheltenham & Burton. Both had a go & both got clobbered. Beating tactically niave teams like Cambridge and the inept (Charlton) is easy. It's teams that shut up shop & make life difficult for us like Accrington & Gillingham that we struggle against. One moan - you can have all the sports science, tactical planning, fancy formations etc, but YOU STILL SEND THE KEEPER OUT WITHOUT A FKG CAP.. BPF was stood for the entirety of the first half shielding his eyes from the sun. I wonder how much that played in the opening goal? I think it certainly may have worked in a favour with Gregiory & Hunt in the second half.... Please...send the keeper out with a cap. Like a different side. Even today with the ups and downs, we created more than enough. Tough match though, they were half decent. I just wish we could trust this side more on their travels.
