Tom Lees

Recommended Posts

The sign of a good player is the time it takes between thinking and acting. He's a slow thinker and that is why Leeds got rid of him. His reactions are poor, his passing is the worst in the team after Dawson. He has no pace and cannot read the game. He gives little or no direction on the pitch. He isn't a leader in what he does, in what he says and in how he conducts himself. We don't have a natural leader in the team at the mo. He concedes ridiculous fouls and is very naive in challenges. He is solid and can win a few headers but that only gets you so far. Iorfa and Borner flounder with him between them.

I’ve no problem with people arguing he’s not what he used to be and we need to move on, but saying he’s arguably THE worst defender in the whole league, ridiculous.

Wouldn't swap any Barnsley or Luton 1st team CB for him right now. But I'll say 2nd worst if that helps.

when he’s next to a good experienced vocal centre half, like he was with loovens he looked brilliant ( he needs someone organising him for the full game) without that he’s horrific.

He's meant to be our captain

Exactly! Why anyone thought he'd make a good captain is anyone's guess. If it can't organise himself how can he organise the team

Arugably the worst defender in the league. Fallen to pieces last 2 years. No pace, can't tackle, can't pass and is our Mr Panic.

Bit extreme to say the least. We have a couple of CBs now in Iorfa and Borner that are playing better than him now, that’s all it is. His ball-at-feet place has always been his achiles heel so that’s no mystery.

Hutch at CB would be better than Lees.. Then we have Urhoghide who is a CB . Lees should be way down the pecking order.

If Hutchinson had’ve been playing, we’d have cruises through today...

Because we wouldn’t have have JP, or we wouldn’t have had to move Iorfa to RB

And what about Iorfa and Borner without Lees? Do you think that is working?

Weak centre back, not captain material usually looked after by his partner. No pace not enough aggression and weak minded and no other position.

Probably a much nicer man though than the nasties Hutchinson and Westwood.

When Thorniley was here he took care of the physical stuff and looked after Tom particularly when assombalonga was bullying him. Tom would have been fifth  choice centre back for me  before JT went.

Nice bloke but out of his depth in this league.

I've no idea why Lees is captain but he's not as bad as posters are making out. he's a solid Championship defender. He does need a vocal player along side him but he's  good when that happens. Good with Loovens, good with Hector, struggled this year.

Iorfa isn't perfect but him and Borner work well together. Lees, Borner seemes to be an issue.
