Nuhiu’s Finishing

Recommended Posts

Remember how much of a donkey he was infront of goal the first couple of seasons? He used to miss so many chances...

Now he is actually pretty clinical. He actually doesn’t get too many chances a game as he’s often doing grunt work elsewhere on the pitch - but when he does, he converts quite regularly.

Whoever has been helping him develop that part of his game has done a great job.

Name a game where he started and was MOTM... difficult.

However, Nuhiu is a last 20 minutes player. Imagine being a defender and after 70 mins dealing with Fletcher or Winnall, the big man comes on... He knows how to exploit tired players and the OP is right he is clinical these days.

Sounds like a bit of a wind up post this but what I will say is that Nuihu is a total enigma, at once absolutely dire then laying on an assist as good as the one for Murphy yesterday or scoring a goal like the one v Norwich, a bizarre player.

Agree

That about sums him up.  No one knows what he's going to do next including himself.

Re the post above, 'aerial duels' is not one of Nuhiu's strengths IMO.  He wins his fair share because of his height/size.  But he's average at that overall.

Likewise, I don't feel that one of his weaknesses is 'discipline'.  He got a red card last season at Wigan away.  But other than that, I can't remember any other time he's been sent off/suspended.  1 red card in circa 250 matches for SWFC, over 7 seasons doesn't indicate that he's an undisciplined player, it suggests the opposite.

If he was more mobile he'd get more chances by getting into space, getting on the end of a cross or losing a marker.

Most of his play is good enough for this level but its all handicapped by his very limited mobility, and thats why hes never been a regular scorer imo

While fletch is out tho or until we sign a striker, would start him either in a 433 or in a 442 with harris up front
