Gabriel Batistuta is 50/1 with paddy power.

Strange name to be on the list.

A brilliant high profile player back in the day.

He was awesome for Florentina.

Has he ever managed or coached anyone?

Was linked with Boro a bit ago

Maybe wouldn’t be against Zola on coaching staff, but as manager agree with everyone else

Think it’s important we have someone with a bit of character and will instantly have a bit of respect from the players, this isn’t the biggest job in football but to manage this club I think you need a bit of personality and character to bring everyone together as a unit

Are there any other managers that get called Big something these days, other than Big Sam? Managers called Big, usually do well for us for some reason. Although that were long time ago.

Might be best to be more forward thinking and to think outside of the box these days? Could Paul Cook be our modern day Big Jack/Big Ron? Seems to have something about him. Gets his teams playing. Would be an interesting smart appointment.

Rowett, Monk, Hughton would all be good for us now as safe options

If we wanted to take a gamble then Stendel or Cowley or at a push Phil Neville but can't equally see it being a left field appointment again

He would probably be wearing the Chelsea kit!

We best not go for Stendal......

He's not a real Barnsley fan, he's only got 5 fingers on his hand.

The thing about football managers is we (myself included) always perceive past achievements as being indicative of future success.

Because a manager won promotion 5 or 10 years ago, we assume they have a magic recipe, when in truth football is evolving quickly in terms of tactics, conditioning, speed of play etc.

I can see merit in looking for who is up and coming, who is successful right now. For that reason and in consideration of style of attacking football and recent promotions, would like to see Cook and/or Stendl seriously considered.

Could understand Hughton, his CV is impressive, and as an established, experienced option about as good as we could get,  but none of the other names are particularly exciting.
