I'll be honest , If I was going to play a system where I was going to give anyone a free role to float about and do as they pleased behind a front pair it would be ..

Ross Wallace.

Or if we play a 4-3-3 Wallace could compete for one of the three central midfield positions. This would not only give us a bit more creativity in the middle but it would also enable us to use someone quicker (and ideally right footed) to play on the right in one of the forward positions.

The entire squads been inconsistent, including sacred cows like Lee and Wallace.  But FF gets the stick.  Ok.

Just can't leave it some of these on here. They'll only be happy once he's gone and they can claim their opinion was right. You'd genuinely need to be full on messed up to think we're better off without him

He had a good game? Belongs in the premier league? He's flipping toilet . Don't get me wrong good season last year sandwiched between a poor one at Watford and a poor one here. Fair play to Hutchinson stood up took the first poor penalty fair dos.

Forestieri is supposed to be this great player and if that's the best he can come up with I'll happily drive him to his next destination.

Harsh but fair. Put aside my overall feelings of disappointment for the team as a whole losing, on an individual level, I was devestated for Hutch when his pen was saved. I don't feel that same level of sympathy for Forestieri because of what he did back in August and how inconsistent hes been this season. Could tell he was gunna miss from the moment he chose to put a terrible cross into the box from that free kick we had ont edge of the box. If he wasn't confident to strike at goal from that, what chance did he have with a crucial sudden death penalty.

I also feel we have too many forwards and an unbalanced squad. Rhodes, Winnall, Hooper, Joao and Fletcher is a more than adequate 5 for me. We just need more players who can provide them with the ammunition they need.

Thanking team mates for everything and not mentioning going again next season suggests to me that it's a leaving post. He's not stupid, he knows that the post will start people talking.

For the last few months he's been fairly quiet on social media and we all know his agent likes to stir the pot. This post could well be a 'come and get me' message to any suitors out there.

On the one hand I'd be gutted to lose him because he's by far the most talented player in our squad, but on the other hand his attitude has been questionable this season and if his hearts not in it then a move is in everyone's best interests.

Or more likely he's been concentrating on his heavily pregnant wife and now on his young baby.

FF is getting stick due to refusing to play to get a better deal. He signed a deal before that was better than any one else at the club. No other player behaved like him when he had the best deal. He as undermined the chairman, manager, players and fans. Some people think he is up there with our true legends and he is not, he is a outstanding championship player, if he was as good as some on her think he would be in the premiership or la liga.

Any abuse that as been given to him or his family is wrong.

Tbh, I read it as a "thanks for the memories" message. It could just as easily be an "English is not my first language" message or "I'm a footballer, not a man who thinks too much about how my words could be interpreted" message

We have no real clue what happened that day before Norwich.  And what precipitated whatever happened.

We got someone's account.   Always two sides to every story, though.

I refuse to castigate FF when we have no idea what really occurred.

Interesting to see where Nando was playing when we scored our goals. (Please nobody call goals "stats". Goals are goals!)

I looked at half the league season so we played every team once, and added in the 2 semis. I ignored the Fulham reserve match.

Total minutes in 28 games - 2520

Nando as a twin striker - 1011 minutes - team scored 11 ( Nando 3)

Nando not twin striker - 375 minutes - team scored 9 (Nando 3)

Nando not on pitch - 1134 minutes - team scored 18

If anyone is as sad as me please do check for errors...

He was twin striker for our goals against:-

Home - Hudds 2, Hudds PO

Away - Forest 2 Bristol C 2 Newcastle Brighton Wigan Ipswich

He was other than twin striker for our goals against:-

Home - Norwich 5 Cardiff Brum Brentford Burton

For all other goals he was not on the field:-

Home - Derby 2 Newcastle 2 Blackburn 2 Brum 2 Barnsley 2 Rotherham

Away - QPR 2 Rotherham 2 Barnsley Preston Reading

The penalties was just like France 2004. When Beckham got sent off. I had the same feeling the moment Sam stepped up to take the first penalty as david batty that day. I new we wouldn't do it, just looked similar. No offence to Sam, but not a natural goal scorer or the guy you'd expect to be taking one.

He still has my support. Just needs to be utlilised properly...on the feckin' wing.

Penalties under that kind of pressure are never a sure thing (Messi's first penalty last night was a perfect example).

I honestly would have taken flipping a coin over a shoot-out.

I wouldn't blame anyone for missing a pen.

I have heard people say that a professional footballer shouldn't miss a pen but if that were true we would still be there now.

I think FF will still be here start of the new season. Sheffield Wednesday gave him a new contract last year and I don't think any club would be daft enough to offer him the same and we all know how much money and his ego are important to him.

A12Owl's assertion that one of FF's problems may be due to him worrying about being a dad's is just ridiculous. Just look at what Andy Murray accomplished immediately after becoming a dad. FF is a loose cannon and, arguably, an egotist. Obviously enjoyed being the main man and top earner 15/16 but spit his dummy out when we started recruiting higher profile players on higher wages, started riding a bike to work allegedly to make a point regarding one of the new signings getting a posh Audi (childish or what?), refused to play for the club that provides his enviable lifestyle and the supporters who fed his ego, then issues an apology to the fans, plays pretty poorly afterwards for a while, gets a new deal then his form picks up.

I do admire his passion and he is a gifted player bit is he a luxury we can't afford? I personally would cash in this Summer. The saddest thing is he won;t go for the sort of money he would have gone for around Norwichgate.

His attitude then was why I felt we should have sold him then. That said after signing a new deal and apologising it became water under the bridge. If, however,  a club did come in and offer anything close to his notional value of last year then I suspect that we'd sell and reinvest in other areas.
