The word coming out of Exeter is very encouraging.  The fact that their fans and staff rate him very highly  and point to his improvement too is far more valid IMO than hustoric pre-loan form of 18 months ago in what was a pretty toxic environment.

To judge him on the past rather than the now is bizarre. Had his form at Exeter followed him coming through the ranks of another club except Wednesday  he'd  be just the sort being touted as someone we should consider recruiting.

The real sadness though is that if he starts next season as our number one he'll be judged far more critically than BFP was this season when he made his gaffes.

Spot on. It would be wrong of us to not give Dawson another try.

10 pages of guff over a player we may or may not sign, some people just need to take up crazy golf in the summer

Can't tell if this is an ironic or unironic take on a messageboard

Wud rather have 'westy' than 'cammy' tbh..dont want either of em tbh..how hard can it be to find a good 3rd duvision keeper ffs? 🙈

We should take a look at Dawson. He might have improved to a level where he is a great option for us. If he hasn’t improved then move him on; if he has improved then it’s a bonus.

It will cost us nothing to assess him.

Laughable if it wasn’t so sad.  27 this Year played over 70 match’s in the Championship under 4 different managers and our latest DM didn’t feel able to start a Season in Div 3 with him as our first choice. By the looks of it this Season will be the same. Why is that?…Well all the fans fault and the Linley ‘toxic’ atmosphere at S6 if he drops a clanger Well boo £&@£ing hoo. Shame on fans eh? Ridiculous loyalty to players (not just CD) who we have had zero success with Answer? Why bring them back & let’s have more of the same

Says one of his coaches.

At Exeter. in Div 4(as was) what relevance does that have to S6? Like I said IF your right we will see him instilled as our ‘New’ no 1 GK won’t we?

Not loyalty just a recognition that players can improve. Most recent evidence according to fans and coaches who have witnessed his performances over a full season says he has both improved  and shown excellent ability.

I'm sure that DM will be delighted that the loan has had the desired effect. I'm  sure that he'll under consideration for our number one come the start of the season.

Dawson has had a very good season playing against league 2 opposition

He now needs to go out on loan to a league 1 team to see how he adjusts against better strikers

I know some people will say we shouldn't loan him out to a competitor, but you can't have it both ways

He needs games, he won't play regularly here this season, there's no point loaning him to league 2 again

Let him spend another season at Exeter and see whether he can step up to this level

Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife.

Dawson wasn’t even that bad in the Championship. Struggled at times like the whole team did - the whole club was on its arse and lacking in confidence.

With a new manager, with a better team spirit and a stronger side around him. Dawson would be fine for us next season.

He should be No.1 in my view and if he struggles we have the experience of Stockdale to come in. Good management if it happens.

Wait and see for me. He needs to be assessed again by the staff here before making any decisions. I think it's highly unlikely that we'd let him go to a competitor whilst subsiding his wages like last season. If, after having a look over the pre-season, the decision is that he'd be better  elsewhere then fine but unlikely  to be Plymouth as they’ve already said that they cant afford his wages.

Doesn't matter what league he's played in, the goals are the same size.

I vote for him to be given a chance.
