Opposition players who gave you the fear when they came to Hillsborough

Recommended Posts

Other than those mentioned Dean Saunders always used to scare me...picked up the ball and just ran at pace towards our net.

And not at Hillsborough but in what was the first top flight season I saw us in (84) Bryan Robson at Old Trafford on New years day scared the poo out of me with the intensity of his tackling.....even though we beat them!

The Everton side of the 80s
The Chelsea side of the 80s
David Speedie
The Coventry side of the last 80s, early 90s.
Neville Southall
Knockaert
Kevin Phillips
Dion Dublin
Clinton Morrison for Palace

I remember my Grandad saying Leicester were a proper bogey team for us in 60s when they had Banks, then Shilton in goal, who would inevitably have proverbial blinders.
Just looked at the record from 1959-71 was P:22 W 2 D 7 L 13.

That is a proper jinx. 2 wins in 12 years, both in 1967 😯
