Linked with Josh Sims again this morning along with a host of other clubs. Another winger to play in a system that won’t suit them? Surely not.

Weighing up his next career move, hopefully his agent has a lot of sense and recommends he joins Portsmouth

Aside from the obvious 'volume' issues, always suspicious of a player who would choose to sit on his arse fir half a season, rather than play football.

I'm sure he had offers (obviously not good enough, although he is earning nowt at the moment) and at 24 should be mailing down a regular starting spot. (I know they all are, it's a job etc) but this attitude strikes me as very mercenary.

Beevers. How far we’ve fallen eh.

No disrespect on Beevers, good lad and had a solid career but going back for players you let go 10 years ago is just a bit sad.

Saddest thing is that he’s as good as anything else we’ve got

If Rotherham will let us have Richard Wood and Joe Mattock as well, we can get the band back together.

What's Lewis Buxton up to these days?

Don`t know .............but I`m sure he is still utilising that same aimless pitching wedge chip down the line

He was having chest pains back in the start of the summer so has been taking time out on medical grounds. Seems he might be back and ready to go for a new club now.

I don't think this is the case with Sims, just sitting on his... That is.

I think I read that he had, had some issues in his personal life.

Ladapo has asked for a transfer. He is Moore godson and always scores at this level. One to watch maybe.

I would suspect he'd command a large fee. He's got 12 goals this season and is a decent age. Also his career appears to be on the up, so I doubt he'd drop to our level (how sad is that?).

I wonder if he's sensed some interest from the championship and is trying to force a move?

Whatever, while I'd like him with us, if he does come I'll be amazed.

Yeah I doubt we would be able to get him. He may be out of contract end of season but there are conflicting reports there.

Simms wont be up to speed, not played for several months and has heart problems.

Yep.

On loan at Doncaster in December 2020, Sims tested positive for COVID-19 during his rehab from a hamstring injury. While he played on with lingering fatigue issues, he suffered a glute injury in March 2021, which then brought on sciatica and impacted his energy and appetite further.

In April 2021, specialists diagnosed him with ulcerative colitis (UC). Given a choice of steroids or tablets, Sims chose tablets to remain compliant with drug testing. In May, he was released from Southampton. Later in the month, he was taken to hospital and diagnosed with myocarditis (a rare side effect caused by UC tablets) and pericarditis.

His wife, Zoe, contacted Southampton's doctors as Sims had multiple health scares over the next few months. Southampton were unaware of the extent of Sims' issues, but soon provided him with an external heart monitor and have allowed him to train with the club as he regains fitness. Sims hopes to have a final medical in January that will clear him to play and find a new club.

So 7 days in to the window no centre backs signed, no signing at all.

No players in the last 6 months of their contract signed to longer deals, good young players allowed to get into last 6 months of deals too.

looks like nothing has changed new manager the same old same old from the club.

Sims would be an absolutely pointless signing

It's this season Andre Green a player released that has not played for at least 6 months, add to that he has underlying health conditions add to that he cannot play centre back.

It's a no from me.

Moore said he had the targets lined up, but where are they. I am sure most clubs get players in a lot quicker than us, we need any to settle in as soon as possible. Ok we have saved a weeks wages but this happens all the time, we always make last minute signings.

We wait for everyone else to sign players, then we get the dross no one else wants and pay double the price because we left it to the last minute.

we need a centre back, we have over 7 days for that player to get used to playing with the other players. So what does DM do he waits till 31st January - another 9 league points dropped, further behind the play offs then he sign a player for a position we don't need who has not played for 6 months.

Any potential signings will unfortunately be looking at how he’s handled Corbeanu and wonder if it’s the correct move

Undoubtedly have an impact on Moores transfer window this now, he’s had a shocker with Corbeanu make no mistake

Perfect for us then as he ticks all our boxes !!!!!

Three months for him to get the required volume and sorted 🤪
