I reckon Windass should fancy himself to get double figures when he’s back as well. Adedoyin hasn’t been mentioned much but he’s 21 this year and has featured quite a bit in pre season. His scoring record at youth level for Everton was decent so maybe this could be his breakthrough season as a pro. I’m starting to think maybe we only need one top quality striker instead of two alright ones - until January anyway. If we’re playing 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 then do we really need 4/5 strikers battling it out for one position? I know Windass can play in the 3 attacking midfield positions but we also look quite well stocked there if Sims signs. We all know we need a striker, but we've also lacked paced and guile in the positions either side of the striker or on the wings for years. It's another position I'm happy to box off now and feel happy with across the full season. There's a bit of depth there with some real pace and directness to come off the bench. S Haven't we been playing 4-3-3 in pre season? Wing Or Bannan?? Maybe Shodipo and Simms would both start also, not either or. Shaping up to be a competitive squad though. Bannan clearly sees himself as a deep-lying playmaker; it's the position he always seems to drift into anyway, and is something we could actually make use of if we have some pace in the attacking positions. Personally I don’t want Bannan anywhere near our back four. He lacks defensive discipline and gets drawn to the ball like a moth to a flame. Leaving huge gaps for his colleagues to cover and usually they bare the brunt of having to do his work. I’m not sure he’s capable of playing in the 10 role, but I’d rather him there with two behind him. FDB seems to be playing in more advanced positions in preseason so I’m not sure his best role.
