He always played better with those two, and Forestieri also. Seemed to struggle with Fletcher and Rhodes though, and I can’t remember him playing much with Winnall. He’s a player who thrives on give and go, and balls into feet. How many times did he receive the ball, lay it off, turn sharply and then not get the return.

To often.

Yeah fully agree. Agree he never clicked well with Fletcher. Rhodes he did briefly but a combination of missing chances and Jos not liking Rhodes didn't lead to it having many more appearances. Obviously enjoyed playing alongside, Atdhe as did Hooper and Forestieri.

He wouldn’t score that amount with us . We have Barry backwards passer , kadeem never beat his man and nowt pelupessy providing them spark

We could have Lewandowski up front and he’d struggle to score. That’s why it’s so ridiculous hearing some posters go on about getting a young hotshot in on loan, why would any decent club send their talent here to chase shadows, get no supply and try winning long ball headers vs 6’ plus monsters week in week out.

Can’t remember these threads last season. If there were it was to laugh at Reading for paying 7m.

Even if he was here in this team, he wouldn’t be scoring.

Think that was probably true, but maybe it says more about our fans than what Reading actually paid for him. Joao is now playing in a footballing side, that’s why he is thriving, and yes he would struggle playing in our side now

He's at a good club with a good manager who organises his team well. Amazingly as a result player like João find their potential.

Pleased he's not here. Anyone who thinks he'd be scoring for fun in our side is delusional. He'd be sat on the bench and coming on for cameos running round like a headless chicken achieving nothing. He'd be completely wasted in our squad.

Leaving was the best choice he ever made and I hope he continues with what he's doing

Sad ,but I agree with this .

For the best part of 10 years (bar one) we have played dull, negative ,slow ,no cross ,no shot football ,where a rare victory is either 1-0 or 2-1

When did any of us get out a cigar with 10 minutes to go ?

We accept it ,its been drummed in to us as the norm

Said it at the time. A mistake selling him. So many other players should have been sold (FF, Lees, Reach) before him to avoid needing to sell Joao, or indeed not bought in the first place (Rhodes, Van Aken) that would have meant we'd not be financially screwed.

Just saying

12 goals now this season

Massive mess-up selling him.  Worth a ruck load more than the £5 million now.
