It can be used for good look at Kieran Westwood delivering that young lad a signed shirt on his birthday, probably impossible without social media. Maybe an official SWFC channel for instances like this can be used for good, but as for players coming on after a 3-0 defeat at home to QPR using sound bites and cliches it’s like ground bait to some (rightly or wrongly). IWEDFM
It's catch 22 Fans pay their hard earned cash to watch their team and like anything in life if the product/service isn't up to scratch you complain and football is no different I get what Odubajo is saying but in a lot of matches some of our players have thrown in the towel. We conceded 5 at home to Blackburn and 5 away to Brentford. That isn't down to a lack of ability that is simply throwing in the towel and giving up which is unacceptable If our players want support they have to earn it and put their bodies on the line every time they step out on to the pitch
Jim
I think next season for obvious reasons has the potential to be an utter car crash. As has already been said there is a disconnect between the club and the fans and I don’t see this changing anytime soon as the Chairman seems to be quite prepared to stay in the background when really he needs to be leading from the front. This job to lead is seemingly Monk’s at the moment but apart from the ‘sunshine, lollipops and rainbow’s everywhere’ crew, a decent sized proportion of the fan base are understandably disillusioned with him and seriously doubt whether he’s the right man in these difficult circumstances as our second half of the season was the equivalent of Eddie the Eagle coming down a ski jumping ramp? Lucas Joao's Tooth
Didn't Harris reply with this sort of message on Instagram the other day? Is this Garry's way of reconnecting with the fans as he spoke about 1

So, all we need is a repeat of the first half of the season, then all will be well with the world.
Rogers
Players and social media in general is a nightmare! Unless your Messi or Ronaldo, don’t bother. Its generally full of unvetted stupid statements from players and hate from fans. When will they learn?

There is a real disconnect between the players and the fans. On the one hand I agree we need to be pulling together but at the same time the fans really haven’t had anything to get behind, we’ve been awful on the pitch. At the same time fans pay very high prices to watch a side going into a new campaign on -12. The chairman has taken a complete back seat, no communication with the fans, no statement of next seasons aims, no strategy. The fans have not been this disconnected from Sheffield Wednesday in a long time. I don’t even know what the club is about anymore. So, with all due respect to Moses, I don’t think it’s the right time to be telling us we need to be positive and the negativity is influencing player performance. Time for the owner of this football club to show some leadership and get the fans back on side and breathe some life and hope back into the club. Because it’s dying a slow death. If this is the quality of our everyday supporter, the sooner the club is shut down the better.....

This quality of “supporter” has probably been there throughout our existence, they just didn’t have the platform to abuse a player anomalously from a distance as your modern “supporter” does. Until the F.A or social media does something to combat this it will be a problem for many years to come. Modern day hate mail x100000.

I'm seriously getting wound up by your constant attempts to turn every thread into a Garry Monk bashing one mate I've got zero issue with you joining in with ANY thread and discussing the topic but this constant relentless Monk thing has gone too far now and people are complaining about it. So we need to come to some arrangement here to resolve this one mate. Monk posts in Monk threads please No more of this mad Monk ranting and trying to turn other threads into Monk threads Either you stop it or I just delete the posts Deal?
