Jordan Rhodes.

Recommended Posts

Its interesting to note that rhodes has had similar chances to those today and they have hit someone on the back, hit the post or he has been shoved out of the way by a team mate.  The shot through the defenders legs today involved fine margins.  1/1000th of a second later and it wouldn't have gone in.  This is not a criticism or praise, just an observation.

during the warm up Rhodes looked very sharp ,every shot went in ,if he could get the service in the box he would score for sure. in pre season he did score a few so its not impossible he could for us if he gets the minutes on the pitch. nuhiu was so bad 1st half he was a joke. contributed absolutely nothing didn't work looked like he couldn't be bothered and won nothing in the air. looked much better 2nd half when murphy and nuhiu were taken off in place of Rhodes and reach.

I could have a point don't ya think lol

After we first signed him, he played in all of the next 20 games, starting 16 of them.

He scored 3 goals.

We didn't play to his strengths, by that time in cc's reign we had gone very negative. If he plays for the rest of the season and we play like  did first half it wouldn't surprise me if he scored 15-20 goals.

He’s had many chances to thrive for us and he’s really disappointed. This playing to his strengths stuff is nonsense IMO.

Having said that, nothing would please me more than for him to become the most in form player in the league and win us promotion, we’d all forgive him for 3 disappointing years and he’d be a hero.

Bristol City’s manager now has a very different week of preparation.

Fletcher’s movement and power has been our biggest goal threat if not our only goal threat. Now he has the lively instinctive Rhodes to think about, who will make space and runs that are nightmares for defenders. Plus his confidence will be thru the roof.

Any one of those finishes today were class. All three combined were top drawer.

Desperate for him to net again next Sunday. Imagine this Rhodes with this confidence, partnering the magnificent Fletcher.

Merry Christmas Garry Monk.

Follow , follow , follow, Sheffield Wednesday the team to follow. No one is better than Stephen Fletcher, not even Kone Aguero . .

Totally shocked and surprised but at the same time pleased for the lad. Still think he could end up back at Norwich in January but today has given Monk some food for thought.

At the same time it’s still a mystery to me seeing how Rhodes has thrived in the past alongside a traditional target man and how he performed in pre-season alongside Fletcher that Bullen went away from this at the beginning of the season. Have we missed the boat with this way of playing? Hopefully not?

And can you imagine the amount of space Jack Hunt is going to leave Harris in behind.

This is how Rhodes was when he was at Huddersfield and Blackburn; 3 chances = 3 goals, and a negligible contribution beyond that.

But he had every reason to feel confident in his abilities back then, and it's so much about confidence with strikers like Rhodes.

So he'll be feeling great right now, and I just hope that he, and we as a team, can capitalize on that and really push forward with this way of playing. It's obvious we can score goals that way, so we just need to keep doing it.

Yes, credit to the lad, three very well taken finishes. Against that though, Forest were so poor today, but you can only beat what is in front of you, and this will do his confidence the world of good Still think a new forward is a priority, come January, as we lack pace and subtlety, something we’ll need against better sides Anyway, if we can get some contribution out of Rhodes, it’s another weapon in our armoury, and if nothing else, it puts him in the shop window

I think you honestly haven't a clue. Every opinion you share smacks of someone who hasn't laced a boot playing any sport not even at amature level. Literally if you shared an opinion we would just be better off doing the opposite. Thanks though for sharing. Always better to have shared.

@gurujuan has only just come to terms with Fletcher being our best player.

Jordan Rhodes scoring hat-tricks is going to take him some time.
