Top marks to the Wednesdayite giving it large to Bruce

No, the guy was an idiot.

Don't give Bruce and co anymore excuses to leave than they've already come up with.

That kind of nonsense plays right into Mr Potatohead's hands.

Like everyone else, those chanting Steve Bruce  barmy army weren't aware of what he was going to say afterwards. He's shot himself in the foot and he's going to have to think very carefully about his words IF it goes belly up.

Some serious @rse licking of how good we are etc etc. He's tightened the slack he might have had, and given a few bad results the comments will surface that he wanted the Newcastle job and his heart isn't in it. If he wants it that badly he could walk.

Get him gone I say.

I don't blame Bruce for wanting to manage Newcastle, simply because it's the club he supports in the city where he was born.

That's something we all should understand.

He isn't getting any younger and this will probably be his one and only chance.

We know he regrets not spending more time in the North East, and Newcastle are in the PL too.

He did well for us in the second half of last season, and he probably feels that provided we get adequate compensation there's not much harm done.

He's an employee in the final analysis.

Once again we're unlucky.

There are likely few teams he'd have quit us for, but the Magpies are one of them.

I'm not angry with him, I'm just cursing our luck.

Unfortunately a very decent lad who’s never been in any trouble in his life before had a rush of blood resulting in him making a complete buffoon of himself.

He didn’t get released from the cells until 5pm and is now under a temporary football banning order until a court appearance and the inevitable criminal conviction and full 3 year banning order.

Strong beer in the land of the yellow belly. Cant run on pitch and berate are loyal manager. I get were it comes from though as the whole episode leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Time for us to move on and get the manager we deserve.

Really?

1 year ban should do it. There has to be some punishment.

Part of me hopes he gave Bruce a reyt gob full though.

Exactly . If it was a pig doing it to their gaffer , we’d rightly point out what a c**t he was . I’m annoyed Bruce is going but life goes on , hopefully we will get somebody  better.

singing Steve Bruce’s barmy army would have made me want to chuck up had I been there though

Bet he wishes he'd just stuck to some angry pointing.

Find it a bit strange if fans were chanting Bruces barmy army as he had made his position quite clear, he wants to be on his toes. Dont condone any acts or threats against him but he deserves no adulation from our loyal supporters. Throughout his career Bruce has shown loyalty is not high on his agenda.

He should have just started a very angry Bruce rant thread on here.

He might have made himself look like a buffoon (hi SS owl) but at least he'd be watching us fly to the Premier under Houghton.

Just when I thought it could not get worse you are predicting Ray Houghton as our manager? Kill me now.

It is not bad luck.

He has done this throughout his career.

We are no one's fallback option.

And to those chanting "Steve Bruce's Barmy Army", have a word.  How about Brucie reciprocate some of our already-displayed loyalty and respect before giving him yet another free pass.

Grow up
