His heart's ruling his head. And I think he'd quit most teams for them. OK, I don't think he'd leave Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal etc for them, but we're not any of those clubs. We've not kicked a ball in the PL for almost 20 years. I knew Benitez was leaving, but I never thought that Bruce would be on their radar so I wasn't concerned. But he's friends with Ashley, and more exalted coaches probably wouldn't touch the job with a barge pole. The fans' expectations will never be matched by results, so the incumbent is on a hiding onto nothing. The only thing big about Newcastle is their crowds. BarnsleyOwl96
I was singing Steve Bruce barmy army mainly due to not knowing what he was say in his post match interview. Disappointed with Bruce you could see he was saying nothing in relation to him staying and as if he was reflecting on his time with us mentioning Wembley amongst other things . He basically wants to go but can’t obviously say that and just waiting for a deal to be made. I wonder how it will go down if we can’t agree compensation

Contrast that to Villa fans throwing produce. We look fine. Someone throws a cabbage at me, I pick it up and take it home and have it with me bacon joint. Someone drunkenly comes 50 yards out of the way, bypassing stewards and security to square up to me and shout at me, in this day and age.......... He's lucky Bruce took it so well. I hope he is banned for life.

How about Brucie reciprocate some of our already-displayed loyalty and respect before giving him yet another free pass. Damn right
Lord Snooty
When I've got big decisions to make in my life I always find having a large drunk bloke in my face helps me make an informed decision... As for were nobodies fall back. Sadly that's what we are. like all clubs not in the top flight , until we get there, we're a stepping stone. That's just how it is. 1
Costello 77
One of my character faults is that I get hot tempered very quickly and it subsides just as quickly.. I was really narked with Bruce at first but now it's resignation...but the one thing that's still bugging me is the timing.. The best analogy I can make is that it's like a bridegroom on his wedding morning demanding his best man's suit off his back because he'd cocked up ordering his own.. WalthamOwl
Personally thought it was embarrassing. Show some class. Just because Bruce is behaving like he is doesn’t mean fans should stoop to that level. Edited July 14, 2019 by WalthamOwl

I do not buy the desperate to manage his boyhood club stuff. He has already turned them down twice and managed Sunderland... not that desperate is he?.. Leaping Lannys Perm
Imagine a world where you go for a job interview, come back to work the next day and one of your colleagues starts to threaten you for your disloyalty. I'd say anyone who champions random spectators (I won't say fan) coming onto the pitch and confronting managers, players or officials is the one who needs to 'have a word's.
