First time i remember was at Norwich early 90's, when we seemed to sing it for about half of the game non stop, but might have been around before that?

Early to mid '80s

Remember singing it on the 'Wino' back in the day.

So it was pre 1985 banning of alcohol on football coaches

Good song, only ruined when we sing it too fast, same as Wondering Wednesday

Our lot need some lessons in how to sing proper. Although I don't like to admit it the Palace lot at Donny showed how it should be done. Nice slow pace and very loud. The wolves lot are also impressive at singing and always come across well on TV.

I was there that day. 27th August. In the old stand at Norwich.

Loads and loads of inflatables and hula skirts. The singing didn't stop from 2.45pm until after 5pm . Incredible atmosphere. Couldn't believe how much noise about 2000 could make.

we lost 2-0 but nobody seemed to care. It was a bank holiday and many were going on to yarmouth for the weekend .

Honolulu was sung most of the game.

I can remember singing that in the 80s and I don’t think it was new then.

As as someone mentioned earlier, I think “Wondering Wednesday” is unique to us also.

Also, did we start “We love you Wednesday” (obviously l, other teams use their names when they sing it)?

Its becaue they have a drummer (and not a full brass band) who can change the beat and tempo of a song instread of one continuous bang bang bang to every song.

It also sounds like the crowd dictate to the drummer and not the other way around

Always look on the bright side.

A song once sang in gallows humour when we were pants.

Latterly sung at the opposition when we were good.

Till Man Utd nicked it after the league cup final

Wasn't it a Man Utd song that we adopted when we played them at Wemberlee ?

A  brilliant day out, fantastic to experience, the atmosphere and the genuine applause from the Norwich fans was amazing.

We went to Great Yarmouth for the night.  I had three takeaways within an hour or so.  And then got attacked by one of the lads letting off the fire extinguisher back at the BB.

Had an old mate who i haven't seen since the early 80's who used to sing it.  First heard it on the coach to Carlisle probably 79/80 season.
