Lambert, Karanka and Moyes

Doubt he would take a short term contract till the end of the season, I think he backs himself more than that and has a decent project going on at Shrewsbury.

He'll be managing in the Championship sooner or later whether with us or somebody else.

Ok you know more about what he's about than do. I just have a good feeling about this guy and the freshness he would bring to the club.

I agree with you totally. Apparently he's a wednesdayite so he knows what its all about. He would be relatively cheap and take a short term contract to the end of the season.

Would you leave your job for a 6 month contract?

Wouldnt be to disappointed with that. A lot worse out there.

I would be happy with that except he's proven to be a top class manager on a low budget. Not really fitting for us.

He does have high standards however and looks like he only puts up with things being done properly as well.

Is also sort of a local lad.

Depends if I was a fan of the club or not and had confidence in my own ability. Do not forget a 6 month contract at our club would probably pay the same as staying 3 or 4 seasons at Shrewsbury

Realistically McCarthy...more ambitiously Big Sam.

Interview on the BBC today where he says he'd come back into management if he thought he had a chance of bringing success. Well I honestly believe he's of that generation that know Wednesday to be a huge club that belongs in the top flight. He'll see Wednesday as a big and 'proper' football club with fantastic fans and an excellent squad, and if he were the man to get them back to the Prem he'd be lauded as a legend and I think that would appeal to him.

Given money to spend in January and the autonomy to do things his way (I realise neither of those things might be forthcoming!) I really think he might take it.

Wouldn't have any of them.

Karanka is more defensive minded than Carlos

Lambert has failed at every club he's been since Norwich.

Moyes if a fraud. He did alright with Everton but has been useless at every other club he's been at.

We need some one who is going to bring the excitement back on the pitch!

Moyes a fraud? Come on! He did an amazing job at Everton and the Man Utd job was a poisoned chalice. He took over an ageing team there and was not backed in the market by an inexperienced new Chief Exec. His initial record wasn’t much different from the heavily backed Van Gaal’s. Ferguson obviously didn’t think he was a fraud.

Sociedad - I honestly don’t know why British managers go abroad if they’re not prepared to move there and learn the language - not surprised he failed there.

Sunderland - un-workable when he took over.

We’d never be able to get him here. But it’s an interesting thought. He has great contacts so would we need Doyen? Would he bring Irvine back with him.

would rather have Big Sam though.

No too Moyes. Lambert and Karanka have bad reputations in regards to playing styles but have both gotten teams promoted.

Lambert only left Wolves due to the transfer policy but he did fantastic and Norwich and I'll even go as far as saying Villa, he got hammered for being dull but he kept them in the premier league... bet they'd kill for that now. Karanka made Middlesbrough a top side in this division.

Id take any of those 2 to be fair. They both know how to get a team out the division.

I'd take Big Sam right now. Rumoured to say he would take a Championship job. He wouldn't want us psssing the ball around at the back. That's not to say he's a long ball specialist, just knows the areas of the pitch to do damage in. Would be completely different to Carlos.

Great job at Everton? Martinez with his first season in charge got more points in a single season than Moyes ever did.

Moyes took a side that finished something like 11 points clear at the top to 7th! (Who tells Rio Ferdinand how to defend by showing him videos of Jagielka?)

Sunderland - fair enough but they were still probably one of the worst teams in premier league history!

Agree with you a bit here.

Moyles has picked up terrible reputation in the Last few years and it's not all been his own fault.

Proved at Everton what he can do. But are those days now gone.?

I think Lambert is underrated.

Learnt his trade in the lower leagues.

Smashed this league apart with Norwich playing attacking football.

Kept Villa in the Premier League while the club was a mess, a mess they are still struggling to sort out.

Kept Wolves on an even keel last season and after heavy investment they are top of the league.

We could do a lot worse.
