Rhodes / Forestieri swap.

Recommended Posts

Probably more detrimental to us than beneficial... we've got plenty of, on paper, top goalscorers already at the club... but you'd rather we swap out our best creative force for another top goalscorer.

Too many people see a lack of goals and surmise we need a new goalscorer, when we really just need more creativity.

Of course, playing Abdi in the correct position would be a good start...

Why would we introduce another striker who'd be up top getting very little service at the expense of one of our most creative players who's capable of creating chances out of nothing?

edit: just seen the two posts above this one, which basically said the same thing!

Why would anyone want that?

Maybe it would change the focal point of our attack? Abdi's balls through to a player who has been one of the the most consistent strikers at this level in recent years sounds like a viable alternative to someone who obviously has had issues.

Especially if the Fernando thing has affected things behind the scenes.

so we remove our only creative player who has any pace

and replace him with someone who is not quick or creative

good idea

Just for comparison,

Forestieri got 6 assists last season.

Ross Wallace got 8 assists.

David Jones got 7 assists.

Gary Hooper got 5 assists.

Barry Bannan got 2 assists.

Kieran Lee got 3 assists.

Great idea that. In a team that severely lacks creativity we swap our only creative outlet for another out-and-out striker to add to the others we already have
