Isn’t the player he was.

time to move on

I’d actually agree in some games this season but he was very good today (the combination of him and Vaulks was strong).
He even won headers in the middle

He had a decent game today. The other night was a nightmare for him in the first half, gave away the ball a few times in dangerous positions, but today much better. TBH much depends on which league we're in. He's got at least another good season with us if we're in League One, in the Championship age is starting to show and at minimum we need another Bazza and Bannan could end up being a super-sub. Seem to remember Zola played a similar cameo game in his later years - and was still highly influential when he was on the pitch.

Bannan has been outstanding for years.

But it’s also acceptable to move on in the summer.

I’d accept if he dropped wages and became a bench player however.

We can’t go into next season relaying on him. Some fans just don’t want to allow that for whatever reason.

Absolutely,  I think deep down we all know he is all we have got and we rely on him,but he has past it,definitely, we lose the midfield battle every week, great servant though and nice bloke.

No I don’t.

but the entire squad is built round a man who’s legs have gone.

but let’s keep giving dead wood another contract and see where we end up 👍🏻

Who said Bannan's getting another contract? It doesn't always work for Bannan but he was one of our better players.  His commitment is commendable and he doesn't shy away.

You couldn't really fault the effort from the team today.  Just very frustrating and you feel the footballing gods are against us!

Him and Vaulks were best players on pitch. What on earth did you watch ?

If we don't win its bazzas fault and needs to go...then when he misses a game its disorganised, no creativity and everyone can't wait for him to be back.

Thanks for 9 great seasons.

But it’s time to let the family dog be put down.

Eh? He was arguably our best player today.

What a pointless and stupid post.

We really do have some brain donors among our fanbase, don't we?

We put in a largely dominant performance which, but for some typically wayward finishing, could have seen us two or three goals to the good, and yet we have threads on here slating Bannan and Windass, both of whom contributed to the strong performance.

I know we're all disappointed with the final result, but it's bizarre the attitude of some fans towards our players, it really is.

The dog being the club?

While Bannan moves on, to end his career with bigger & better things (probably a top 6 Championship club)

To be fair, living in Thorpe Hesley, you'll be a good judge of seeing people who are slow and past it. A place where the average age is at least 86.

Bannan is 34 isn't he?

He can still run further than most of the the team, has a great pass on him, his commitment to the cause is arguably more than the majority of the rest of the players, and is a great ambassador for the club. But ye, let's use him as a scapegoat eh?

Then if he's missing through the rare injury he gets, we'll move on to Palmer, or start a campaign get Dawson back instead of Beadle...

Honestly, some people can't wait to point a finger can they?

9 years of giving his all, that should be commended, he’s stuck by us, when he could have left and we would have been up sh*t creek, as we know we would never have replaced him.

It’s absolutely fine if you think we should move on from Bannan in the summer, but bit like Windass, why do we always have these threads about those two players?

Famewo/Diaby/Iorfa and others have cost us quite a few goals, but let’s start threads about Bannan or Windass.

Flipping weird.

Threads like this prove there is still the need for the flat earth society type of opinions. Remember the drivel spouted on social media about the Covid vaccination micro bots that we were injected with? There’s still a fair few crackpots around.
