New Head of Recruitment Appointed

How our bonkers Chairman is managing to get staff of this quality to join his chaotic sh**show I have no idea.

People are always on the lookout for a job. Look at chris powell for example, was part of Southgates setup and wanted to get back into domestic football. A bold move when you consider we have a major tournament next summer.

Another appointment which screams "just give them 2 or 3 years and see what happens" to me. This new head of recruitment seemingly specialises in finding good value youth players with lots of potential, and with Danny we've got a manager who isn't afraid to give youth a chance and has direct experience of taking a team from virtually nothing all the way to the Champions League.

We've been saying "why can't we be like <insert side like Brentford>" for years, as have most other clubs up and down the country to be fair. It seems like we might be right at the beginning of giving that process a thoroughly good go.

This shows us direction - fair play. The only reason to appoint this bloke is obviously we are going to wheel and deal in Jan.

Ive been saying for a while if we can get 4 (minimum) decent players in for Danny we could go on a proper run in Jan - loads of games left.

we know when Wednesday get rolling we become a real force - Fingers crossed and welcome Kevin - UTO!!

How does DC make such good appointments on one hand, then make some absolutely ******** horrific decisions on the other. Röhl, his coaching staff, this recruitment fella. All on paper look very solid additions, then he reverts back to type with some outrageously bad decisions and statements. Would love to be in his brain for just a day, would be fascinating

Apparently he spoke to the chairman and still wanted to come here. Bizarre 🤣

We very nearly recruited a new head of finance from a club in our league - which many of you hold as a model of how to run a club

He met Chansiri a number of times and was close to agreeing but in the end it was more personal reasons that prevented him from joining

He didn’t have any issues with Chansiri or what he wanted from the role.

Exactly what I was thinking. It is almost as if he is no longer making the decisions and someone else is, as it totally flys in the face of what has happened previously !!!

So looks like we are in the market to sign a few players then 😉

It is baffling but the recent appointments of Röhl and his backroom team and then a head of recruitment all seems very sensible.  Very unChansiriesque.

Chansiri must have new advisors in the background. Maybe family members have stepped in to protect their investment. He also managed to keep his mouth shut after the Club1867 statement the other week, which is even more shocking.

It feels like there must be some money being available in January,  from somebody.

I don’t believe these coaches and scouts join the worst team in the championship, that historically only signs players like Flint on loan in the January window.  The last time we spent money on a player was 4 years ago on Iorfa.

The way they are all talking is about exciting plans and future.  You don’t get that with the Chansiri of the last 4 years or so.

So either Chansiri is loosening the purse strings to protect his investment now, or his family are helping, or he’s got outside investment and help.

The most telling aspect for me is no response as of yet to the 1867 Group. Be interesting to see if he responds to the proposed march ahead of the next home game.

Not sure you can complete a sale of the club until we know what league we will be in? Championship or League One?

Not saying there is a pending sale though. But if that was the case...

Two different prices agreed?
