Mr. Chow
Surely won’t be backed at stoke either.
megsonstheman
Apparently Neil was their second choice. DC wouldn't allow stoke to speak with DM
IWEDFM
Definitely a backwards move as Sunderland are a bigger club in every way He's a decent manager but I don't think it was such a great achievement on his part last season as Sunderland were in and around the playoffs when he took over so it's not as if he led them from the brink There are better managers out there, namely Sean Dyche
ChapSmurf
I'm very surprised to hear this. I'm not sure of Stoke's real financial position, but I bet they are very close to the breaching FFP. I'm not entirely sure if they are even as big a draw as Sunderland either. He must have been offered more money, which let's face it, is what we all go to work for. There are plenty of good coaches/managers out there. You'll find one I'm sure.

Let's face it, it wouldn't be the first time a spouse has decided they don't like a certain area and prefer life elsewhere so who's to say it's just for money? This is the first time I've seen "Prefer life elsewhere" and "Stoke" in the same conversation.

owls maniac
Not going after 35 years just because a manager who has been there less than 12 months has gone? Give your head a wobble.

Word is he didn't feel he was getting backed in the transfer market with the club model bringing in all under 22 players hecwanted a bit experience like every club needed . Got a feeling we will fold like a pack of cards now and something that looked really promising will now turn into a desperate battle for survival and we will lose some of better players for rhe sheer greed of the owners Feel absolutely deflated now to the point of thinking of not going tomorrow after 35 years . Very good chance we could be swapping places with your beloved club next season . The feel good factor that's been instilled since last February just been wiped from the club in a matter of minutes You’ll be fine mate. Plenty of good managers will be queuing up to come to Sunderland. Stupid move on his part because your club are way bigger and better than Stoke. What do you think to Ellis Simms BTW? Cracking player eh?

wakefieldowl
Why would any one leave sunderland for stoke? If he goes,i hope he fails miserably. Stoke lost £90+ million a couple of years ago, then £56million (i cant be arsed to look up the exact figures) yet dont seem troubled by financial fair play rules ????
