Popular Post @owlstalk
Just a clear heads up about tonight's game There will be changes to the starting lineup I'm sure Players are knackered and need swapping out to refresh our energy levels (ignore those folk who say footballers shouldn't get leggy etc - they dont' know what they're talking about) So when Thompson names his starting lineup tonight don't be all shocked and surprised It's needed The final result is the only thing that matters and we're going to batter Wycombe and win for the three points We know the starting lineup will change Deal with it NOW and not when it's announced x 9 4 Owlstalk Shop
Themagiccap
4/5 changes 4/5 goals to us, easy win.
The General
Fully agree, he said they were 'leggy' after getting battered at Millwall. I'm expecting it, but thanks for the heads up. The General
83owl
Shaw needs to come into midfield. We need more henergy
Quist
Team looked leggy just before half time. Bannan looked tired first time I had not seen him keep running all game which says a lot. Watching game I thought he was injured then realised just knackered. With Penney off and Reach going to left back we had no pace on left side whatsoever and this led to problems. Hutchinson, Lees and Dunkley are all slow so you need pace in full back areas.
A E Neuman NYowl
This is a game where we really need 3 points and think we have to be more attack minded than recently. All being fit I would start something like this. Westwood Harris. Lees. Dunkley. Urgohide Luongo. Bannan. Shaw Windass. Katchunga Patterson 1

FFS That's a poo starting line up. Where are the goals going to come from with those 2 up front? That weak midfield is going to get bossed. That defence is going to struggle against their big lad. What is Thompson thinking. Doesn't he know we must win? That bench is awful.

McRightSide
Change the tired team and don’t win: Thompson shouldn’t have changed the team, players shouldn’t be tired Don’t change the tired team and don’t win: Thompson should have changed the team, he should have known they were tired
mogbad
I was surprised there wasn’t more changes for the Millwall match. I understand wanting to keep a winning side but with the current frequency of matches the squad needs to be rotated.
pazowl55
We was all to happy with the line on Saturday. Cost us. Let's hope today's line up makes it look like Jos knew what he was doing. It's the only way to get a win.
nbupperthongowl
He is paid to make these decisions with the help of the sports science team..... his long term job prospects hang on this As we don't know who's 'tired'.... for once we need to unreservedly support the team, irrespective of personal preferences in a game that we need to win

Philb125
Now you can make 5 subs there is less danger in making a host of changes and having firepower on the bench if needed. We’ve woefully mismanaged this in past. Monk and Pulis especially seemed to not use full quota of subs and would malign the frantic schedule. For me it’s not about is player A or player B better, but the need to not burn out your starter. looking at benches these past few games there are lots of scope to rest/rotate and once Luongo and Moses are in that mix it’s even better assuming we play 352 and keep the CB’s relatively constant: Palmer/Moses Penney/Harris Joey/Luongo Bannan/Brown Reach/Shaw Windass/Kachunga/Green Paterson/Rhodes There isn’t much between those players so you’d think you could mix it up or have full swap every other game. No need to run the same players into ground week in week out and moan they look leggy afterwards.
