Cowleys get them in

Recommended Posts

Cowley when asked about the Huddersfield job said something along the lines of its nothing to do with them as a football club for him turning them down it’s to do with the timing and the role they are in at Lincoln, a role they are very committed to. Surely that’s not going to change a few hours later!

Lincoln have admitted they agreed compensation with udders so we know they are prepared to release the Cowleys. I would assume we've also agreed terms with Lincoln so it's just a case of whether the Cowleys want to come or not. You would imagine in their position they would at least want to speak to us to find out what the club has to offer and wages don't seem to be their main motivation or they would have gone to Huddersfield. I don't think it's dead in the water yet.

They’d be mad to turn this down.. they’ve had a career in non league as players and managers followed by 2 years as football league managers. Don’t know how much they’ve earnt in this time, but I’d guess that it isn’t much.. more like a normal working person’s salary than a football one. So you’d think they need to take such a move as it would set them up for life...

They could have turned down Huddersfield as they know Wednesday are in for them. But to turn down them all would mean that they risk never getting the big pay day. Football is fickle.. if Lincoln go on to struggle this season, which they may as it’s still early days.. will Championship clubs still be calling in a year’s time. That’s too big a risk to take surely, even if you have confidence in your ability to keep progressing and getting results

He could just be being respectful to Huddersfield.

Unless they consider us “the perfect opportunity.”

There’s not being money orientated and there’s being rational. A rich person turning down money because of other factors is someone not motivated by money. If you’re not wealthy to start with, turning down a guaranteed 7 figures is just mad

We're a better job, fact.  Even with parachute, HTAFC is skint a.f.

So why don’t Lincoln say that they’ve agreed compensation with us, if they are prepared to inform all about Huddersfield? Can’t see there being any truth in this

Asked about the Huddersfield and Wednesday Job interest;

'Widely reported Huddersfield spoke with Lincoln, no disrespect, they're an excellent club but not ready to move unless it was the perfect opportunity'

'Our full focus and commitment is at Lincoln, we have a lot going well for us at Lincoln, we think a lot about the club and rightly so.'

He dodged the Wednesday question completely and didn't give an answer when asked if he would be in charge of Lincoln on Saturday. He gave something about hunger of young players at Lincoln tonight instead.

That's about it and I think they are considering us given he only talked about where he wasn't going and failed to confirm he'd manage them at the weekend.

Sounds like they want full control to set the agenda from the academy upwards and bring in their own people.

Bruce was given that control,  no reason it wouldn't be on offer to the Cowleys.

Because the cowleys had already publicly turned down Huddersfield field...

Bet I dream about Cowley tonight. :-)

As long as it's not a wet dream we're all good here.
