Why would we write off contracts?

You amortize (write off the cost of the player over the period of his contract).

Taking round numbers - Rhodes cost 8m on 4yr deal = 2m amortization per year

Fair play to DC for raising the funds and doing what needed to be done. If he wasn’t committed now would be the time to sell or even worse, simply bail.

But please, let’s learn from this and find a way to challenge a little more sustainably through buying at the right time/age and selling also.

This is fantastic news that's gets us out of a hole and puts us in a good mood.

But was it released today on purpose to soften the blow of what's about to happen.

Unfortunately I think it might have been.

Basically we are in the more unless we bring in some decent fees in the 2019 accounts

Yes by Carlos the effing clown

This can't and shouldn't be pinned on one person. There are many interested parties.

£10m written off in contracts though.

As an aside, what financial year did we reportedly sever ties with Doyen?

Those players only just left and the accounts are to July 2018, their wages etc will still be in July 2019 accounts ... Worrying for next year!

by next year though we will have a year of better accounts to show the progression so we wont get embargo unless the club dont keep to the plan

Why people believe the manager was negotiating transfers and contracts is beyond me

Like perhaps the rest of the money from the stadium sale or share issues? There will be a reason why the accounts have been so late, quite possibly creatively structuring them for the next accounting period

I'm no expert but does that mean we've sold the stadium for £38m?

No It looks like the tangible fixed assets have dropped by around £60m so I'm guessing that's mainly the stadium. Although have we sold other assets?

MK, please no, don't do this to me.

You're saying that our operating losses over the last 3 years have gone (roughly and from probably bad memory), ~£12m, ~£18m, ~£25m?

Its ok. DC knows what hes doing
