Some Rovrum fans must have been on to vote for Hector as their MoM

Lacked concentration today and got bossed by Smith.

I voted Thorniley, made a couple of crucial blocks and played steady. I think Hutch would have had my vote next.

The rest had below average games. Reach could have won us this game, but we didn’t utilise him enough. Mattock would have been in trouble if we’d have played the right balls into Reach; we saw glimpses of it twice - one resulting in a goal.

Generally our crossing is terrible, opposed to Rovrums that looked dangerous time after time. How hard can it be!

Westwood - 4 - Poor - flapping and not managing his defense.

Palmer - 4 - Poor distribution

Hector - 3 - All over the place.

Thorniley - 4 - not his best day

Fox - 5 - solid enough

Bannan - 3 - Dross

Reach - 3 - Dross

Hutchinson - 5 - OK

Boyd - 3 - Heavy legged dross

FF - 7 - Best player by a mile. Should have been allowed to win the game on his own, but his team mates let him down.

Joao - 3 - Dreadful

Like I said, I missed a large chunk of the 1st half. Didn't realise Westwood had made the saves you say. Fair enough.

I do realise it's difficult for the goalkeeper, but that's what he's there for. If he deals with those situations better, Rotherham don't hit the bar, have two or three cleared off the line. That's just my point.

Fletcher makes himself a presence more than Joao, but he never looks like scoring. Over the course of a season, Joao will score more than Fletcher. Sadly, going forward, I think we need better than both of them. Joao's a great option to have, but his consistency is a real issue.

I dont get Joao. Seems to have a positive impact coming on as a sub but generally awful when given a start. Clearly a mental attitude thing that HE needs to address.

Went for Fox out of him and Thornily for me. Nobody else in starting eleven stood out above a distinctly average performance.

Fox??? Seriously!!! He was dire!!

Only Thorniley or FF played anywhere near the required level

I think us fans and in particular SB will have learned a lot from the last 3 games.

Most fans now realise that even with an experienced manager in place, the majority of these players are not good enough to challenge for promotion.  Due to the appalling recruitment process under CC this squad is no where near good enough.

We are going to have to be patient while SB tries different combinations and systems to assess the players.

This may mean some of the favourites such as Fletcher, Bannan and Reach are dropped and moved around as he tries things.

In Midweek he tried Bannan wide it didn't work but he learned something, yesterday he tried Joao as main focal point of the attack, again that didn't work as Joao is far better working off a target man if we play that system.

A bumpy ride ahead.

oh yes I forgot MOM FF as he just looks busier than the rest.

He's become a real puzzle.

Playing as the main striker doesn't seem to suit him...despite him having all the attributes suited to play that role. He always seems to struggle to get into the game, and seems very easy to defend against.

He does seem to have more of an impact coming on as sub...could it just be a case of fresh legs vs. tiring defenders? Or is it a mental thing?

But, long term, he's another player I think is going to struggle to meet the demands required to what Bruce wants and the system he tends to play. He's a 4-2-3-1 manager, and his constant struggle to play the lone role, means we've got yet another striker incapable of playing that role.

Very frustrating, because he's a player I really like, and i've no doubt he's got the raw attributes to play at the highest level. But he's now 25 years old, and he's no better than he was when he first arrived here. This summer could be the watershed in Joao's career, whether it be here or elsewhere.

It’s pretty simple with Joao.

He needs to play alongside a target man, not as one.

His touch and passing is nowhere near good enough to play that role

Where he’s most dangerous is when someone else on the pitch is getting hold of the ball, wrestling with defenders and creating space.

Joao needs to be facing the opponents goal, not ours

Missed large chunk of the 1st half, including the goal, but it wasn't good viewing.

Westwood - 5 - Seemed to really struggle with the long throw, got lost in amongst the bodies far too often, and didn't command the air like he often does.

Palmer - 5 - Powderpuff performance. Offered nothing going forward, and seemed to just aimlessly hit it long time and time again.

Hector - 3 - Horrible performance. I've not seen the 1st goal, but seems he was at fault for that as well as the 2nd. Lacked his normal composure on the ball, Smith rattled him and his indecision seemed to be contagious.

Thorniley - 6 - Actually thought he dealt with Smith reasonably well when he went to play on him in the 2nd half. Despite the size difference, he went toe to toe with him.

Fox - 5 - Few shaky moments both defensively and offensively. Had the opportunity to stick some decent balls in the box, but didn't really do enough on the whole.

Hutchinson - 6 - Tried hard, played on the edge again. But lacked any quality on the ball, and it's issue for us when trying to create things going forward.

Bannan - 5 - Struggled with the pace of the game, and the Rotherham's midfield energetic press. But he's our only creative spark in midfield, and there's a lot of expectation on his shoulders.

Boyd - 4 - Not sure what he offers that a County standard cross country runner wouldn't? Covers ground, but there's no spark, no creativity, no quality from him. Surely it's time to give Aarons a good run in the side, see what he can offer.

Reach - 5 - Another sub-standard performance. Like Palmer, powderpuff. The right hand side was soft, and never looked like getting a grip on the game. Reach's insistence with shooting from long range is doing us more harm than good. Not convinced with him playing as an inverted winger...Reach's strength is getting to the byline and crossing, play him out left and allow him to do it.

Forestieri - 7 - MotM - Only real bright spark for me. When he got the ball, he looked after it, despite getting kicked from pillar to post. Scored the 1st, involved in the 2nd, and a constant problem for Rotherham's centre halves. But, as so often the case, it's one step forward, two steps back...good display, got his goal...now banned for two games. Infuriating.

Joao - 4 - Powderpuff No. 3. Bullied. No threat whatsoever. Another start where he's flattered to deceive.

Fletcher - 6 - Came on the made himself a nuisance, which is more than Joao did.

Aarons - 6 - Delivered the ball into the box for the late goal, but other than that, nothing too much of note.

Iorfa - N/A - Not on long enough to get a mark, but what a mark he made. Owusu style debut!

Overall ... delighted to nick an undeserved point. And I'll be honest, part of me is pleased we're seeing these displays under Bruce's leadership. He needs to see, with his own eyes, the serious deficiencies within this squad, and this performance today (and Millwall to an extent) displays them all in abundance. Too many players are soft...physically and mentally. When the going gets tough, they don't. Too many flatter to deceive, make the wrong decisions far too often.

Bruce has the opportunity to press the restart button in the summer, and he has to take full advantage of that. There was a risk that if performances continued to improve, he'd be tempted to stick with a large number of these failing players. They've had their chance, they've had their time at this football club, and on the whole, have failed.

Getting battered to a poor Rotherham side, creating nothing against a horrid Millwall side, failing to score against the worst Reading side in years...the signs are there. Bruce will be noticing them, I'm sure of it. Time for him to rip the offensive blueprint up and try something different though...Reach, Boyd, Fletcher, Joao are all underperforming.

Only  watched the  highlights and agree with most of the scores, buit it seems peculiar to me that a winger who lays on a perfect pass to FF for his goal, has a superb run along the line and , from a fine angle , almost scores, plus numerous crosses and shots, should be pilloried to the extent that Reach manages (as well as clearing off his own line)

Overall, it appeared that we were outrun as well as overrun.

Joao needs outing like the rest of them

How long do we stay patient and wait for this ‘potential’ to prosper?

Its never gonna happen

Westwood - 5 - Not his best game but still made some crucial saves

Palmer - 5 - Again not his best game but not to blame for the goals

Hector - 3 - Awful performances such a strange player can look so good one week but always has a mistake in him, today he was at fault for both goals managing to make about three errors in a row for the second goal, also tried to give them another one in the first half

Thorniley - 5 - better than hector and cant have been easy playing next to him today

Fox - 6 - typical of his recent performances solid if unspectacular got an assist for the 2nd goal

Bannan - 4 - Never excels in overly competitive games just cant deal with the physical side of games

Reach - 6 - Typical of his recent performances you feel like there's more he could do and like bannan neshes the physical side too often but he also got another assist and theres plenty that need criticism before reach

Hutchinson - 6 - Solid enough performances

Boyd - 4 - Did some good things and did well prior to the first goal but still looks like yesterdays man

FF - 7 - Back to the standards you expect from him not afraid of getting kicked unlike some of the other players

Joao - 3 - Just cant play the central role hates the physical side of the game and is at his best with the ball at his feet facing up the opposition
