It's ludicrous to sign players who then get injured.

We should have a policy of signing only players who will stay fit.

It must have been obvious at the time that he would be prone to excessive injury problems.

Having signed him we now need to offload him.  Or, to be technical,  get rid.  It is obvious that there are low cost lawful ways to accomplish this.

He and Matias both out and injured after a high five gone wrong celebrating Tuesday's win.

In any case, we paid for him, we might as well see him on the pitch, even if it is pre-game:  Have him fitted for Ozzie's costume and get him out there.

Might as well get something out of him while he's under contract.

Abdi has had 14 starts here, 5 sub appearances, scored 1 goal.

IMO we paid well over the odds to bring the player here, and I would speculate that Abdi will be one of our highest paid players.  Really p*ss poor business.

Club really dropped a b*llock with this signing.  And I attach absolutely no blame for this on the player.

To be fair though, at the time, it seemed like Abdi could be a missing piece that we lacked from our first season under Carlos.

Sometimes transfers don't work out. That's football.

In hindsight, yes, it's been a poor signing, but very few fans thought that when he arrived. So I think it's a tad harsh to blame the club on this one.

I don't really understand what you're talking about. I didn't say sack him, I used the term MUTUAL CONSENT. That is not a sacking, it is where both parties agree to something.

But if the player wants to stay / play, just keeps getting injured, why would he go 'ah ok then I'll agree a compensation package and leave' ?

Thing is these guys are so highly tuned athletes that a knock or pull that a Sunday league player would play through and not effect, can really make the difference in performance to these guys. The difference between making a steady contribution and being a liability. It's not worth the risk a lot of the time. For the team or player

Precisely.  It happens.  It may be that the medical assessment was deficient, but we can't know that.  At least as probable is that the issues have arisen subsequently.  It's going to happen.

People do go all medieval peasant about this sort of thing.  Someone must be to blame for the bad weather that caused the crops to fail

Write him off and claim on the insurance, especially for his painfully, cringey yet enjoyable tweets. Shambles of a signing

I dont know if this is possible or if it's necessary but he's a become a liability
